In addition to coffee and drinks served inside and out depending on circumstances, the lunchtime menu provides a good, relatively inexpensive meal with daily change. The service is cheerful and efficient, the menu well-chosen and the food well-cooked. Le Moderne closes at 2000 on Mondays. The central position on the Square is ideal.

Issigeac has long been one of favourite little villages in the area with its houses overhanging the tiny narrow streets and its frantic Sunday market. Last time we were here our two favourite restaurants had both closed and eating was getting a tad difficult. In the intervening years a lot has changed with any number of places now offering lunch time food, at least on a Sunday that is. The old Casino supermarket has gone and in its building is this place, the Bouchon Medieval and knowing how busy the village is on market day, we booked. You will struggle to find a web site for it, there is something on Facebook but not sure what as I am not, nor ever will be, so it is not until you get the menu you discover, on a Sunday, there is only a set three course menu at 28e each, fine if you like the main, not if you donât, plus two sharing boards, one fish, one meats. We plumped for the fish at 26e.Most of the cost must have been in the four oysters because the rest would not add up to much. Two pieces of cod terrine (see it in most supermarkets), two slices of smoked salmon and a few pieces of eel (I think) and some herring pieces. Yes it did come with a small salad as well and a chive yoghurt dip type thing. Lets face it, there is very little anyone can do to ruin an assortment of fishy things so it tasted ok but was it value for money? I will leave you, dear reader, to decide.I was told the reason they only offered one set menu and two sharing boards on a Sunday was because there are so many people about. The inference was it would be hard to cope with an a la carte menu, I think the real reason may be people would take too long in the place so the offerings make sure customer turnover is swift so more can be served so more money in the till, or am I just being a terrible cynic? I guess they donât need to count on too much return business as the rafters will always be stacked on a Sunday. How good is their cooking? No idea and I doubt we ever will. The most positive thing I can say was the staff we very nice and friendlyI fear Issigeac is turning into a tourist trap. Prices in the market are markedly more expensive, ditto the restaurants plus it has been prettified and has lost a big chunk of its original charm. Such a shame but c'est la vie, as they say in Oswestry!

Set in the medieval ramparts of Issigeac we are a family run restaurant offering delicious soups & starters, mouth watering sandwiches & paninis, tasty salads, scrumptious desserts, homemade cakes & a wide assortment of drinks including local wines, a ful
A warm welcome, a nice shady exterior on a scorching hot day and excellent value for money. Between the five of us (which included one vegan) we must have selected most options on the menu and it was all beautifully presented. The food tasted as good as it looked and the wine was fine too for house wine. Lovely afternoon and would definitely go back again. Bonjour and thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We really appreciate all the comments you have made and are so pleased you enjoyed your meal with us. We understand that being vegan and even sometimes vegetarian can pose problems for eating out in France and we do try hard to always have these options available on our menu. We thank you once again and look forward to welcoming you back here soon

La Dolce vita is a little restaurant in Villeréal, an old village. Fresh products and home made, we love cooking and it's a very lovely place....
We enjoyed seeing our friends but the food and service were average at this family run eatery in the pretty village of Villeréal.The amuse Bouche were potato balls with sauce. Completely tasteless! The starter most of us chose was a fajita wrap with cheese and peppers. It was edible but not exciting. Think Pret A Manger lunch wraps and not fine dining! I then had white fish with risotto and a piece of asparagus. The risotto was like 1970âs British boarding school rice pudding. The fish was unremarkable and tasteless but edible. I was irritated that that we had to order desserts or cheese at the same time as ordering our starter and main course. One doesnât always know what one wants at that stage.Service was cold but efficient without a hint of humour or engagement.

Over the years I have been visiting this place regularly when on holiday . Any time if you wish to have a pizza , pasta , continental meal - this is the best place .The choice for veg / non veg is great !The mouth watering pizzas ,pastas and the desserts they serve are too delicious . Most satisfying meals here . Reservations are advisable - this place is generally packed even on weekend evenings . There a nice place for the kids to play - for a family with young kids . The service is good , there is outside seating which is most pleasing . The wine anddbeers are served . Prices are high but , manageable . Location is excellent . An experience in pizza meal . Must eat eat here place .

Booked here from a recommendation of our holiday home owners and described as âlike the Fat Duck in Bray but without the costâ so was very much looking forward to our meal. And trey were not wrong! From the start theStaff were lovely, attentive but not overwhelming and were very patient when we used our dodgy french! We went for the four course for â¬36 each and was worth every penny. Food was exceptional (wish I had taken photos but was too busy enjoying it!) and little extra surprises from chef. Surroundings are relaxed, only wish I could move it nearer to me! Thank you for a fabulous night

Restaurant - Grill - Bistro. Warm setting and family atmosphere. Dogs welcome if sociable (a cat and a Lab live there). Private terrace.
We met here with friends who had previously visited. We got a friendly welcome to the well situated but empty restaurant, when we arrived at noon. (It did fill up a little later, but it was a Tuesday, so maybe not the busiest day?). There was good spacing between the tables. We picked the daily menu at â¬16. The dishes were freshly made, plainly presented and the ham/potato salad starters arrived in generous portions. The main courses we selected were lamb ribs (very good and tender!) and pork in a sweet and sour sauce. This was very much a French interpretation, not Chinese!. Both served with rice. Desserts selected were crepes and creme brulee, both well executed. You can see the photos ! have uploaded. I would say you could be confident in eating here!
