Their are sadly very few good restaurants in and around Pontoise, the nearest and one of the best is 'La Maison' a Cormeilles en Vexin, so this makes a nice change, as this is in the center of Pontoise This is a real Italian restaurant, with 'la mama' who deals with the customers and very nicely to, she's kind and polite and very helpful, her husband (I think) who's in the kitchen and the waitress, all three are real Italians. All three dishes that we ate were good, all the products were fresh and home made, including the bread, the portions of good, just the right size. You can see and feel the Italian way of life in all of the food, just like being in Sicily, but without the sun By far the best restaurant in Pontoise without spending a fortune, be warned Saturday evening is very busy, you should book in advance

We stopped for coffee and a hot chocolate after a tour of Van Gogh's home. The staff was very friendly. The staff was friendly. The restrooms were free and clean. However, the signs on the doors look like they are unisex restrooms. They most definitely were not. My wife started into the one that had urinals and I started into the one with out and didn't see a ladies room sign until I walked through the entrance! Be warned!

This is an excellent restaurant that is recently opened (7 months according to the chef) with not only delicious food, but friendly staff and a great environment. While the interior is not excessively fancy and the exterior is discrete this was a fabulous place to enjoy a 3 course meal for about â¬50

Had a long lunch here earlier this week. We ate from the a la Carter and fixed price menus. Everything was flavoursome & delicious, prepared with a light touch. Service was attentive, if a little slow at times. Great wine list. Outdoor deck space will be lovely on a Summerâs evening. Really like that the chef walked the floor and spoke to her diners after service ended.

Café Le Nymphée welcomes you in a 17th century room, with contemporary design. Feel free to enjoy a sweet snack whether in the elegant, comfortable interior or on the outdoor terrace on those sunny days ! Open from Wednesday to Sunday
We had lunch at this restaurant. The food and service were wonderful. The price was very reasonable - 12 Euros for Appetizer + Main or Main + Dessert, and 18 Euros for all 3 courses. The portions were generous. The restaurant has limestone/rock walls and arches and is behind the chateau.

We visited with a French friend. I must say we were disappointed. The food is very traditional French but itâs like dining 25 years ago before the stranglehold of Correct Cooking was lifted and chefs started using their imagination.Service fine but itâs very expensive with a ludicrously overpriced wine list. We dined better and much cheaper in a tiny village in Brittany the next night

History in the making! My husband and I were on tour with other seniors on the Seine River where we spent two days visiting Paris. How wonderful it was to be able to see history of my favorite artist Van Gogh. We toured his home and gardens which were magnificent and then where he spent his final months. Auvers-sur-Oise is a community in the northwestern suburb of Paris, France. During the 19th century a number of painters lived and worked here, including Paul Cezanne, Charles-Francois Daubigny, Camille Pissarro and Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh had many famous paintings from his time in the area, including Auvers Town Hall, Village Scene-Aubers and The Church of Auvers. Many of these sites are still visible today. The Auberge Ravoux isnow a restaurant. This is a must to visit even if Van Gogh was not one of your favorites. It's all about history and beauty. This is a very lovely town.

A small restaurant close to the famous Auvers church, cosy and quiet. The owner and her fellow cook like to imagine delicious recipes for today based on local traditional meals. In addition, most of the food is purchased in the nearby farms. English spoke
We had our last meal of our ten days here and we're quite pleased. I had a spectacular seared foie gras and a tasty salmon "burger". Others enjoyed their pork dishes and filets. Flan was excellent.

I was privileged to have been taken to Le Chiquito for a business dinner and, from beginning to end, had a truly exceptional experience. We had a private room off the main entrance, and our small group was very well served. The staff were engaging, but not obsequious(well, maybe the head waiter was a bit over the top, but it was entertaining not irritating). Every course was wonderful. The grenouilles et escargots (frog legs and snails) appetizer was "to die for" and my fresh sea-perch was "perchfectly" cooked. One of our group, a "foodie," had the chef's special dish (veal kidney or sweetbreads, I can't recall) which he indicated was orgasmic.I had the cheese board selection for dessert. Order it. Yes, the chocolate grenache looked wonderful, but order the cheese. The meal was likely expensive, but absolutely worth it. The priciest item on the menu was the cab ride back into Paris for the night!
