We went last night to "Le citronnier" with high expectations, followings the good reviews and high scores here on Tripadvisor. We called at 8pm to get a table and they told us we could cole right away. Nice. This restaurant is located a couple of minutes by car from the port of Marseille, where most of the high ranked restaurants are. It isn't a big place, there are only a couple of tables, which was nice. The interior is modern, but nothing special. After we got seated, it took the waiter 10 minutes to come to our table and bring us the.....wine list. Maybe something was going on that evening and they were lacking staff, because the waiter seemed to be quite active in the kitchen, but it took another 10 minutes prior that the menus were presented to us. Way too long.Portions seemed large, so we decided to share a starter. The starter proved to be delicious, some kind of Patagonian dish: cuttlefish filled with feta cheese and anchivy and which litterally exploded in our mouth when biting on it. Very tasty and great recipe. As main dish I ordered the burger. The black angus meat tasted well, but the cheese layer was way to hard. The presentation was not so tastefull, the whole reminded me to German portions ( like the German art decoration on their wall). Ok, but not in line with the reviews here on Tripadvisor. A surprise was the wine list, which I appreciated a lot. They serve quite original south African wines: we tried the kleine rust with the pinotage grapes. Very tastefull, even although a 2015 edition whilst the 2013 edition was listed. The waiter was a nice young man from Ile de la Réunion, we had a good chat with him. Nice person. All by all, the restaurant is ok but not worth 4 or 5 stars. A 3,5 star rating seems more appropiate. Would we go back is a question I always ask myself at te end of an evening ? The answer is most probably ....no. It is ok, but nothing special

Passez votre chemin Malgré un cadre rénové ce restaurant ne peut pas recevoir les amateurs de bonne cuisine On se fiche du monde avec des plats mal présentés et très chers ex : carpaccio ou 2 encornets dans une assiette.

We were a group of 11, some of us took pizzas, spaghetti and some other stuffs. We all had the same reaction. The food was not good. Pizzas were overloaded with chesse. Spaghetti was so tried and creamy. The cashier was quiet rude. If he doesn't want to work, he can stay at home. That much rude won't give a right image.

We must have passed the Pizzeria Vesuvio a dozen times without giving it a second glance. Walking past from the street it looks like a small, rather kitsch, Italian pizzeria with a few wooden tables and not very many customers. The reason that we eventually went in was that there always appeared to be a steady stream of people going in and out, which was at odds with the seemingly empty interior. I am very glad that we did, and we have since returned on a number of occasions.Inside the small front room of the pizzeria there is a door which leads to a large back room with what must be one of the best views that you will find anywhere in the area. You can see Marseille, most of the hills that surround it along with the sea and Islands, best of all, during the spring and summer evenings, you will catch the sun setting over Marseille and the Mediterranean - even without the food, this view is something special. The food is not haut-cuisine but good plain Italian cooking. However, like the exterior, the name "pizzeria" is a little misleading - be warned, if you are a fan of pizzas you will probably find the Vesuvio's pizzas rather small and many people seem to order them as a starter rather than a main course. There are a variety of dishes available and they all seem to be good value for money. The service can be variable as they seem to employ a number of trainee or temporary staff to serve at the tables; consequently, it can be "pot luck" as to who you get. Having said that there are some permanent staff and the people who run pizzeria are friendly, helpful and can speak a little English, so if there is a problem it can be sorted out.Well worth a visit if you are in Allauch and equally worth the trip out from Marseille - even if it is just to see the city from a different angle.

I was taken to this restaurant for lunch by business associates that have their offices nearby. It has plenty of seating indoors (which was good given the rainy day) and decor is simple and warm. I had a traditional Marseille dish called Daube (stewed beef), which was very hearty and tasty. My colleagues had the dish of the day, which they also enjoyed. We had a quick dessert and coffee as well, which were well presented and were just right in terms of portion size. I wish the weather would have been nicer to allow us to sit outside, I guess I will have to come back!

I went there twice with family while travelling to France. Twice we had a great experience in this wonderful and friendly restaurant. Excellent food with original dishes, typical from Provence. A must try is the PIZETTE that they invented. I tried the veggie one, just delicious started for a promising meal / dinner. And all this at the reasonable price. Thanks again ! I'm happy you appreciated the food and everything !Hope to see you soon !

Invited by my colleagues, I just thought that they had picked up this address due to its proximity to my hotel. Indeed, it did not take me long to find the place, but they had obviously sought for a good restaurant. From the starter to the dessert, the quality of the products was there. I selected some fish for the main course : the cooking was very good and fitted to the taste of the mix of mashed potatoes with asparagus. The place is nice with a huge terrasse. The bay-windows, when they were opened, made you feel like you were outside.

We went to the Allauch village and decided to go there because had seen good feedbacks on Tripadvisor. The main point: it is far from the village and there is no bus. So if you do not have a car you will have to go about 3 km along the road. The prices are medium. One set menu which includes a main course and a dessert is 14.50 EUR. But everything is really delicious! We would like to thank this restaraunt and especially a blonde waitress who did not speak English but made everything she could to make our lunch pleasant. The food here is really worth that money!
