Traditional family owned fish & chip shop by the sea in Folkestone serving the finest made to order fish. Our chips are made fresh using the best potatoes. Come and enjoy good food with great service
We ordered food after a very long wait. The staff messed up the order and said that they had no fish left. We ordered and then some new customers came in and their order for fish was taken... The food we did order was overcooked and some of it was inedible- my daughter's nuggets were like rocks as were the sausages. The chips were soggy...what can I say. You would think a fish and chip shop that has for so many years been one of the best in the area could fall this low. I have been eating food from here for nearly 45 years and this quality was inexcusable.

The Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant is in a beautiful building right on the beach. The restaurant is privately owned by the Parrett family, who run the highly successful Eastwell Manor Hotel and Spa in Ashford and we offer a fabulous choice of first-class fi
We didn't know where to eat as we walked around Dover but found this nice restaurant. How could you not have seafood right on the harbour with a view like that? The service was good, the food good and the prices were what you would expect. Tasty and pleasant was our experience of the Hythe Bay, when in Dover next time I hope we eat there again. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit to our Dover restaurant and hope to see you again in the future.

Had a trip to Folkestone last Sunday fancied some fresh crab.Bobs had claws but no fresh whole crabs so opted for a dressed crab at £6.50. Walked round the corner found fresh whole crabs at Chummys bought one at £4.50 "lady opened the crab prior to buying to show the inside was mud free".Prepared the fresh crab then made some sandwiches with both the crab "meats" the Bobs crab to be quite honest tasted like paste? plus the shell the meat was encased in was white BLEACHED?However Chummys crab was very tasty. My tip would be if you know how to dress a crab I would opt for a whole crab that way you know its just meat not stuff like breadcrumbs!

Definitely worth a visit, what an unusual setting with food to match. Locally sourced with even the bread coming form next door!! Amazing so much is being grown at the restaurant in raised beds made of pallets on what was the Harbour!!Thanks so much folks, lovely to meet you - glad you enjoyed the garden, we've worked hard on it with our volunteers!

Have visited Griggs on many occasions and always enjoyed the experience until this week. I queued for 10 minutes (No one else at counter but staff chatting in another room)to buy cockles which were inedible and slimy. The food eating area indoors was shabby and had not been cleared. Sadly gone downhill.

We had a very good meal here, we were first in at lunch so were quickly seated & although you have to wait whilst the fish is cooked fresh (this applies to all the fish served ) it means they taste better. Chips were also very good as was the mushy peas, all at a reasonable price.

Cantilevered over Folkestone Harbour with panoramic floor to ceiling views out over the English channel. The heart and soul of Rocksalt are our menus, served in both the stunning restaurant area and the bar on the first floor, both of which are complete w
Revisited Rocksalt this week with my siblings. Their first time - they were stunned by the wonderful outlook across the harbour, with the quirky âholiday homeâ installations. I love this building and the enormous glass wall which gives the impression of the room being one with the sky and sea. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is great - oysters local, fresh and tasty, chilli prawns good, my sisterâs venison was plentiful and delicious. Our fish was beautifully produced, fresh and lovely, just let down a bit by the (daily special) turbot, which portion was rather mean, considering what a huge fish this is! Donât know what happened as never experienced this here before. We didnât have deserts, but drank plenty from the good and reasonably priced cocktail and wine lists! Overall bill is rather expensive but I think worth it for the whole experience. I will certain go again, for special occasions and for no reason at all!!Many thanks for your review. We will pass your comments on to the team as feedback is always appreciated. We sincerely hope to see you again one day. The Rocksalt Team

Great fish and chip shop and restaurant, a brilliant find in Folkestone, and very welcome after a very long walk to and from the village of Sandgate. Really good vfm and a good choice of different types of fish.
