Hidden off the square leading up to the Monastery, POUNDA is worth searching out. On the square itself is a fairly ordinary cafe with a couple of tables (also called Pounda)....but go behind it - & you find yourself walking into a secret courtyard garden and a Hidden Gem. Owned by a Danish woman & her Greek husband Pounda has a wonderful garden, many tables and a fascinating menu. We say (when it was closed) drinking ice cold beers (not a problem)....and then, when it opened at 5pm, we opted for a couple of long, slow cooked succulent peasant casseeroles. A rabbit....and a lamb stew. Just lovely. Would definitely recommend Pounda - a place to read, relax and enjoy good food when you're ready for it.

This is the place to go to get the freshest and best prepared fish on the island. Several locals recommended the restaurant to us and it didn't disappoint!!! The owner recommended a delicious bottle of wine to accompany our huge fish we ordered and an appetizer as well and he came out to speak with us several times during our meal. It was delicious and the courtyard space is a very beautiful setting to enjoy your meal.

We had our lunch here while in Folegandros. The setting was in garden Terrace, and service staff was helpful and attentive. The Tzatziki was refreshing, tomato balls nicely textured, grilled octopus was addictive and the grill chicken with pita and fries was filling and nice. All in all, a pleasurable dinner for us.

The restaurant has a great view, perched just above the Agios Nicholaos beach. The food is very good (including great, fresh fish), and even the house wine is unusually good. The service is very friendly.

Folegandros's Chora is packed with restaurants, bars and any type of place that will satisfy your food quest. To Goupi is a fantastic small restaurant, specializing in greek food. So, if you're looking for very well executed Greek dishes, this is the right place. It isn't possible to book a table and in crowded nights you'll be obliged to queue a little, but again it definitely worths the wait. Prices are just right and staff is very attentive. We've been here a couple of times during our vacation and we always left very happy. A must when you're in Folegandros.

"Melissa" located in the heart of Folegandros Chora, in the second square out of three available in the village. It's a traditional Greek tavern offers some local typical examples like Matsatsa, hand made pasta. Only they made them better that the others. Expect to find queues for dinner time , if you go between 20.00 to 22.00, i think they do not accept Reservations.

The only real Italian restaurant on the island. Small charming business, Italian chef and owner, prepares and serves genuine food, traditional pizza, simple atmosphere in old restored Cycladic farmhouse dating 1910. Great seaview while sitting in the patio outside.
We had the best pizza and risotto of our lives in this restaurant. We also had very good homemade ice cream for dessert. The restaurant is set in a traditional Cycladic house, with breathtaking views to the sea from the patio Seating outside. The cook and owner is a very friendly Italian lady. I would definitely recommend eating here if you are in Ano Meria (or even just in Folegandros!).

This place was tipped for the best local pasta, we tried it with goat and meatballs, I am glad I tried it but we would have shared and had a couple of starters if we knew it was as plentiful as was, no complaints, though, lovely view, nice drop of house plonk too.

We went for some Gyrus and burgers with the family. The sweet staff announced that it was the "best Gyrus in the universe", im not sure if that is a 100% correct, but... it's pretty damn close!
