King Cajun Crawfish Cocoa

After disembarking the Royal Caribbean Harmony of the sea’s ,we were in the mood for some authentic southern cooking. And after some searching we came upon the King Cajun crawfish restaurant in Cocoa beach Florida. Although I did not find this restaurant on trip advisor ( which I have since added to TripAdvisor ) I did find it on another competitors page. I found the website for the restaurant which had a sister store in Orlando. We looked through the website and everything looked and sounded delicious so we sought out the location in Cocoa Beach to give it a try. I must say it is a modest looking restaurant however we were greeted by a friendly hostess and quickly seated as the weather had kept the crowd on the light side. For our appetizers we ordered the jambalaya and the gumbo which were both fantastic. We followed this with the crawfish for one which could’ve fed three people, and A crab sampler which included Dungeness crab, King crab and Blue crab as well as red bliss potatoes and corn on the cob. Everything was delicious and fed the four of us not leaving much room for anything else. Except the waitress offered us Beignets and we had to oblige her by ordering some for all to share. All in all I would say it was worth the trip If you were looking for five star ambiance this is not the place, however if you were looking for authentic Cajun cooking with the southern flair this is it.

A&M Atlantic Seafood- Cocoa- 4 StarsFirst, it was the phone call, then it was the sign (see photos) I first saw upon entering A & M Atlantic Seafood that brought and kept the late, great comedian John Pinnette to mind and his famous "Chinese Buffet" routine. It was a packed house for lunch, and as no one else seemed to be paying any attention to it, I turned mine towards what I can only assume was a shrine to the All Holy and Mighty Pineapple, sending a quick thought westward towards the Holy Land (Hawai'i) I approached the counter to place my order. What I found behind the counter only solidified my belief that I was in Mr. Pinnette's bit. She can only be described as the stereotypical "Dragon Mom" made famous in the book by Janet Gonzalez-Mena. She was of Asian descent, unsmiling and slung tough love around like she was chumming for sharks. She had everyone on their toes, focused and performing their assigned task with efficiency and pride. What is the result of all this bossing around and frowning at her employees? Only the best fried Conch I have ever had! It was so devine that I had to go back a second time just to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Rest assured, I was not. It is real and very, very delicious. The sweet tea is homemade as it is written in the Florida state constitution (a little-known fact). The Catfish and Shrimp dinner that I ordered was just as out of this world fresh as the Conch. Everything was perfectly breaded and fried to an amazing golden brown. The crunchiness of the batter combined with the tenderness of the Catfish and the Shrimp was an obvious sign of a well-run ship. I will definitely head back a third, fourth and most likely a fifth time just to make sure for my readers Dragon Lady still has everyone on point. It's the least I can do. The Big Boy says, "For an exciting cultural experience and the absolute best fried Conch around, head on over to A & M Atlantic Seafood in Cocoa. Just don't stay longer than four hours!"

We stopped in for supper and waited for approximately five minutes to be asked for our drink selection. It was a little slow in coming but we did not mind as we were watching the Braves win their ballgame. We ordered food and again our wait was offset by continuing to watch the Braves win. We kept watching folks that had come in after us getting saerved but said nothing - - our fault. We waited for at least 45 minutes and out comes my two selections and this is when we were informed that the peel and eat shrimp that my wife ordered was not available but she could order again off the menu. Remember now, we have been in this palce for almost an hour!!. I told the waitress that I was not going to eat in front of my wife and that I definitely was not going to pay for the food; but I made the mistake of offering to pay for the drinks. As a prior food establishment manager I fully expected the drinks to be comped but they were not. Please refrain form going here - - there is a nice McDonalds accross the street.

I wanted to take my husband out for his birthday and found a very nice Spanish restaurant that met my expectations. There were flamingo dancers and they put on a great show. The food was also very good along with the service. The next time we go we will have tapas with sangria.

I have been eating at this restaurant for years as I am an owner at a time share & visit frequently. I went last night for dinner. I ordered a steak that had zero flavor & insanely tough. I was told it had no flavor because it’s high end steak & didn’t need to be seasoned as much as lower costing meat. As if I only eat at cheap restaurants. Lol My aunt ordered the surf and turf meal that was a filet mignon and a lobster tail; both were tough & the steak was terrible. Baked potatoes & Caesar salad was good. The waitress was very kind & gave the kids free ice cream. Not sure if I’ll go back. Prices are to high to not get a great dinner. We're sorry to hear that you had a less than stellar experience! Your feedback is important to us, and so is your satisfaction we are looking into why your steaks were tough.

We enjoy going on Sundays for the oysters. A dozen is less than $8. And the staff at the bar are always friendly.

Lone Cabbage Fish Camp

Hole in the wall right off the highway - gravel parking lot, indoor and outdoor seating, small bar inside. Servers were good, no problems. Airboat ride was a hoot! "Captain" had some good stories even though conditions were not good for spotting alligators on our trip - just saw a few eyeballs before they popped underwater. Still fun and reasonable price ($25 for 30-45 min). Beers were a little pricey for brands/selection. Food was good, big portions - choices were mostly fried (shrimp, frog legs, alligator, chicken). I had fried chicken dinner and it was 3 large pieces. it was good but airboat ride was the highlight of this trip!
