Water is served with crushed ice, instead of cubes making it a bit more palatable. However, it appears to be directly from the tap, with no filter. Ugh! Awful after taste. You have to order a drink, even if you're a water-drinker.I selected the Bento Box with Chicken Katsu, but didn't want all the rice that seems to dominate the Sushi restaurants today. I asked for Sashimi instead. So, all that needs to be done, is to have the sushi chef leave the rice off. No way. The waitress suggested that I get the entree instead. But that doesn't give me the fish. Right?Ok, ok . . . So I'll remove the rice myself, if you really want to torture me. So I ordered the Bento Box anyway, and decided to pull the rice out myself. Surprise! They accommodated my request, making this an awesome meal!Excellent Miso Soup, and it came out quickly. Full flavor, with seaweed and tofu. We stopped for lunch to a full house and were quickly seated, and served promptly.Lunch "all you can eat" is $13.99 for adults, $8.99 for kids 9-11 and $5.99 for kids 4-8.Wait staff was pleasant and the atmosphere was hurried, but comfortable.The food was fresh, but comes with the caveat that sushi rice uneaten, will be charged at $.50 per piece, and unfinished sushi at $1.50 per piece. There is no Sashimi on the menu. Consequently, if you are a "no rice" diner as I am, there are limited choices, save al a carte.Probably won't go back, but not awful.

Fresh sushi that never disappoints. Nice atmosphere. The owner Charlie is a hoot. There are only 2 places for really good sushi in this area - this one and AKI Sushi on Tampa Rd in Oldsmar (the best in my opinion). Try here though - you'll like it.

This restaurant has a good local vive, locals interaction with owner and attentive wait staff. One thing to know is it is a small space and accommodates 30 to 40 people, so it can fill up in a hurry. The food is very good in quality and flavor; however I found the portions to be quite small. If you want a lite and tasty flare then this is a good choice. If your hungry, not so much. As it is good to know they are then on staff, which is fine for its size, but is the crowd comes in fast, you will find your self waiting. I had the Ocean Spray....very good!

Hot Tuna is fantastic.! The quality of the fish is phenomenal and the service is on point. As a frequent sushi eater and âsushi snobâ, this place is great! Tuna and salmon super fresh and a great selection of regular and specialty rolls. This will be my new sushi spot in Tampa. Hands down...great place!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

My wife enjoys Sushi and to find an establishment that serves good Sushi in Florida is difficult. Not here!! I can get away with certain items on a Sushi menu however I enjoy curries. Therefore this resaraunt has both. Great service, food and price. Will be back.

I started going to Kaiko (Charlieâs) 15+ years ago and was in there every week. Best sushi ever!! Charlie moved to what is now Ocean Blue. A few years ago he sold to the current owners. I can tell you that the fish and sushi is still very good. They kept many of Charlieâs specialties on the menu and added some of their own. The fresh salmon, tuna and yellow tail are outstanding. Definitely give it a try.

Family-run shop offers multiple combos of the same variation: sushi and sashimi. Had no bento boxes, no yakitori and only one soup selection.Service was friendly & warm, attentive and fast.Picked gyoza for start. They came in a cluster of 6x to a plate. They were finger-sized bites, crispy and tasty.Udon broth was generic. Noodles were thick and chewy. 2 breaded prawns were somewhat soggy. And 2 slices of surimi were kinda thin.Finished meal with a scoop of green ice cream.Green tea was good, not matcha level but better than tea-bags.As only Japanese selection in town, this small place will do fine.
