Went there twice in a week. Got the shrimp poboy which is what I judge all seafood restaurants against. It was great. Shrimp were large and juicy. Seemed hand-battered like the awesome onion rings. Hoagie roll & remoulade set it apart. Grouper basket was good too. Service was the best thing about it. Lena is a star. Weâll be back!!

Apalachicola is the Oyster Capital of the World and I was there last Tuesday July 30 and left the next day. My first stop was at Tamaraâs Bistro for a bite to eat. When I saw the menu I was immediately impressed. It was obvious, this was not by far, your everyday run of the mill, bistro cafe.I had the Lobster Bisque Soup and it was sooooo delicious, I had a second serving. So I figured, I just got lucky. Afterall, I been having soup ever since I was in Dewey, Delaware when I had that incredible Gazpacho-Crab soup at Woodyâs.Their menu is sooo interesting that either you just start ordering one of each or you say to yourself, you still have the whole night ahead of you.I chose the latter.But that didnât last too long, three hours later, I was back for more!The second time I was there, I had the Oyster Stew.... ohhh how good that was! My only complaint is, servings are a bit too small.When I ordered the Oyster Stew, I ordered a bowl, and still, I could have had a few bowls more. The same with the Lobster Bisque, but that was a cup.I also had some of their dessert. And when I say, some, I mean multiple servings, because as you can see, at Tamaraâs, after one, you keep wanting more!So I highly recommended the rum flan, the Caribbean Banana Split, and for food besides the soup, the Crusted Grouper, The Quesadillas and the Prosciutto and mushroom pasta is a must have if you can only go there once!The one thing I regret not having was the Churros with Dulce de Leche... but believe me when I tell you, I was soo stuffed, I thought, I was ready to explode!My compliments to the Chef... heâs Tamaraâs Bistro, hidden gem!Wow. I donât know what to say. Thank you thank you thank you. What a wonderful review. We have really worked hard to put together a team with passion, pride and love for restaurant. This used to be our go-to. They have changed the breading on their fish, used to be very light and now heavy. Mahi just not as good as the grouper they used to always have. The nicest thing I can say for the staff is maybe they were all having a bad day and did not feel like smiling, being pleasant or asking if we needed more drinks or anything. The outside view is stellar so maybe just go for a drink next time.

Finally, an honest waiter in Apalachicola!! We finally got the truth after 3 days in Apalachicola: no oyster harvesting there since hurricane Michael in October 2018. No wonder the âfamousâ oysters had no flavor: they are from Louisiana or somewhere else. Great meal, great service without oysters!

During a recent visit to Apalachicola, we had an outstanding dinner at Up the Stairs. We have eaten at most of the other restaurants in Apalach, but this was our first visit to Up the Stairs--as during other visits, we have had our granddaughter with us and Up the Stairs do not allow minors (below 21years of age). Up the Stairs, of course, is literally up stairs on the second floor. There is a large bar area and then tables in a smaller area at the top of the stairs when you enter the restaurant. There is also a nice deck with seating. We were there on a busy Saturday night and had a reservation. We were running about 10 minutes late and called and were assured our table would be held--which it was and we were immediately seated. The menu is a bit different from the standard seafood fare in Apalachicola and other Panhandle small towns--several fresh fish and shellfish entrees but also nice diversity with pasta and meat entrees. We started with wonderful salads--I had the West Indies salad which was local fresh crab in a tasty vinaigrette on a bed of mixed lettuce. The portion was almost enough to serve as an entree and was delicious. This was accompanied by house-made bread with an amazing molasses butter! For entrees, my wife had the fried shrimp which were prefect and I had the lamb chop special in a dijon sauce preparation. I had at least 6 chops which were perfectly prepared and seasoned--as good as I have had in a long time. Finished with a nice house prepared gelato. The service was excellent throughout the meal. Overall, an outstanding meal from start to finish and reasonably priced for the experience and quality of food. The portions are very ample so beware. Reservations are a must, at least on the weekends. I highly recommend.

I stop here on business multiple times a year and it is always delicious. Keep wanting to try something off the regular menu but the specials always sound amazing. The bees knees drink is a specialty, chocolate dessert needs to be shared. Scallop special was fantastic!

Went here because of reviews. Donât know if it was a good idea or not. The oysters and seafood gumbo were good but service was something I never seen before the waitress was an older lady that was sick and didnât know who ordered what. It actually became comical between her and the 2 guys behind the bar cause nobody knew what was going on.
