This is a Taco Bell & Long John Silvers. The wife had the fish and I had the new Crunch wrap supreme. The food was very good, the seating area was neglected. We could see 8 people working behindd the counter, but not a one in the dirty customer area. They have to do a better job to get into the restaurant when it is nit busy, AT 2:06 pm it was not busy!

Was afraid we were in for yet another "same ol' same ol'" mom 'n pop "authentic" but really not Mexican restaurant. You know the type, the menus are the same, the food is all bland and maybe a cut above Taco Bell?!Nice surprise here. Tasty with just the right spice and delicious white queso-type cheese on the side. I had the chimis and wife (not a Mexican food fan) had her made-to-order enchiladas which she really enjoyed...trust me, that's saying a lot from her;)!The place is clean, restroom was immaculate so, we'll be back!

I enjoyed an excellent chimichunga with chips and homemade salsa. The restaurant is clean and the staff is courteous and pleasant. The price is very reasonable and there is plenty of parking. Adult beverages are available.

Also going by Mr. Tequila, this restaurant is easy to miss behind a McDonald's in a strip mall, but features possibly the tastiest Mexican food I've had.I had the molcajete dish, which I really think might've been the best-tasting Mexican food I've had. It came with steak, chicken, shrimp, potatoes, cactus, other veggies, and a delicious sauce. Others in my party got tacos and chimicanga, both of which were also very good. Margaritas and mojito were good as well. A very pleasant dinner experience. We did not have problems with the service as others have seemed to.

The funny thing is that we read the reviews about this place before we went. We should have listened to the latest reviews. But, we had hope.Place was sort of clean, dim lighting with huge burn marks in our table. Cutely decorated with typical Mexican restaurant garb. We were quickly seated and received our drinks fast. They also served us a basket of cold stale chips that tasted good, but had the feel that they have been sitting out all day long (maybe their warmer was broken?). Salsa was good though. The big issue was my food. I ordered a combo plate. Chicken Enchalada, Tamal and a Beef Taco. I got a Chicken Enchilada (that was good), a tamale that tasted like it was in the freezer uncovered for about a month and completely indelible and a chicken taco (I ordered beef). I wanted to say something to the waitress, but we didn't see her again for about 25 minutes. She just dropped our food and ran. There were two wait staff and the place was not even 1/4 full. At that point we just asked for the check. They did refund me for my meal, she looked shocked about what I said about the food. Still doesn't help that she never checked on us once. I will avoid this place in the future.

We go to El Molcajetes frequently and the food is always wonderful. The corn tortillas are hand made not store bought and very good. Take a look at the specials = 2 entrees and an appetizer for $25. Great deal and lots of food. My favorite is the Large queso with beef (white Cheese) and 2 Chimichunga and Quesadilla entrees. We usually get 2 meals out of this. Not a bad price for 2 meals for people. And so delicious too.Highly recommend this restaurant for a great meal.

SoCal taco shack in the Village of the Arts creative cheap fresh healthy hip 1920s bungalow and a shrine to the surf and skate life
Would classify this as fusion. We were looking for Mexican and were a little disappointed.Saturday night. Parking can be a challenge. Server was friendly and efficient. Guacamole, salsa, and burritos very good. Tacos were good but unusual fillings. Beer and wine. Outside seating. Probably will not return.
