El Ranchito has been in the Villages many years. On the day we went, they were doing karaoke on one side while theleftvside had dinner customers. There was very little room between the tables. The Mexican dinners we has were good, tho the Mexican steak combo had a very thin, fatty sirloin. The service staff was attentive. The toilets were unacceptable, especially the men's room, right next to the kitchen!

Finding good Mexican food is tough in the states. I had read some good reviews on this new addition, so tonight we went for dinner.Corona on draft, perfect. Great guacamole and delicious queso dip with chorizo. Perfect way to start the meal.I love skirt steak. Simple dish with Spanish basmati rice, beans and more guacamole. Hubby had the Peruvian steak. Great. The rest had skirt steak tacos.Reasonable pricing, great service. We will definitely return often.

If your priority when visiting a place like Brisas del Mar is to get your fill, you will no doubt be satisfied. Fill of chips and salsa; fill of rice and beans. All good. But if you are looking for Mexican food that stands out for authenticity and flavor, you will be disappointed. Tacos limited to crunchy corn shells that reminded of store-bought Ortega; why no flour tacos? Why only chicken or beef...why no chorizo or carnitas? Why no distinct flavor for the ground beef? The enchilada: again, nothing special and drowned with cheese. Four skimpy slices of plantains for $1.99? Outstanding service and thanks for providing a delicious house hot sauce. We left full but not really satisfied.

We visited family in The Villages and they took us to lunch here. The food was amazing and there was so much. The chips and salsa on the table were delicious and the salsa was just the right âhot.â I had a chimichanga and it was very good. Iâm used to some kind of salsa on it but there was none. I kind of liked it this way. One of our party had the chimichanga appetizer and I should have had that. Mine came when rice and beans and it was just too much for lunch - and it was from the lunch menu! My wife and a shrimp salad. It was a tortilla bowl filled with shrimp over shredded lettuce. There was a lot of shrimp in there! Delicious food, great service. We will go back!
