Went to downtown Sanford to find someplace different to have a late lunch with my husband. We walked around and found Zorba's. We both love Greek food so thought why not. The hostess was also our server and was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. My husband ordered a Greek beer, $6.50 for a bottle. And I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio, $7.00 for a small glass. We started with the Saganaki appetizer which was $8.75. We were both disappointed with the Saganaki, it was very salty and did not come with any pita or anything to scoop up the cheese. We then both ordered the Gyro platter with a Greek salad. The salads and the dressing were fantastic. The dressing was the best we've ever had. The Gyro meat on the other hand was cold, dry and had a very gamey/goat taste to it. The tzatziki sauce had a very strong overpowering taste to it. And we ordered 3 sides of feta cheese ( the platters didn't come with it, and the platters cost $13.95 each!) at $2.50 each for very small sized amounts. We also realized halfway thru our meal that this Zorba's was the same one that used to be in DeBary. If we had realized that initially we would have skipped it as we weren't pleased with them when we visited that restaurant. Our total bill for our lunch was $61.75! For two people! And the food was less than special. If you want some really good Greek food try Santorinii in DeLand. We have had much better food there and the prices are better also.

I heard great things from a co-worker and was excited to give this a try. Very impressed with how fast my order was taken including them walking me through the process as so many choices. I was in and out of there in approx 15 min and back to work before my half hour lunch was over. I ordered the bowl with cous-cous and built the bowl from there. You have choices of spreads they told me 2. Then you choose protein I selected the gyro mean which was sliced, I was not impressed it tasted salty and I have had better meat on gyro elsewhere so I may try the greek meatballs next time or the falafel. Next choice is toppings and there is multitude to choose from and finishing off with dressing. Bowl was overflowing and at a price of just a little over $9. All in I was out the door in 15 minutes from waling in I did not incur a line - place was full of happy customers, there is outdoor seating.
