Have not been in several years but this was my grandpa's favorite BBQ spot when he was alive. Tonight we decided to go back and we will be back again soon. Got seated quick, served even faster and the food was awesome to say the least. I had the full rack of ribs and it is fall off the bone goodness. Great flavor and hot off the smoker. Prices were right on with the food served and the portions were just right. If your in Clermont and you have a hankering for some good BBQ don't go to Sonny's stop here.

Their sign says it all 'YOU DON'T NEED TEETH TO EAT JAMES RIBS'. three of us went for dinner ordered ribs,'BBQ chicken, brisket', collards mac and cheese, corn bread and finished off with sweet potato pie OMG JAMES KNOWS BBQ.service was wonderful along with everything else. Will definitely return.
Black Bear BBQ stands out in the variety of sauces and sides as well as the great taste of the pulled pork. The pretzel bun is outstanding in flavor and doesn't fall apart. The corn cake is similar to a corn souffle and is sweet and tasty without any added peppers. The cole slaw is light and vinegar based. Prices are reasonable and service is friendly and helpful.

After seeing all the rave reviews here, I felt this place fell a little short. I'm a typical "BBQ Snob" who fires up my smoker monthly and thinks mine is the best BBQ on earth. I've eaten at hundreds of BBQ joints in probably 35 states. I ordered the two meat combo and three sides.Fried Okra: Typical southern dish cooked good. I got jalapeno ranch dressing. Overall, not bad at all. Cole Slaw: I'm not a fan of mayo based slaw but I gave it a whirl. One bite was plenty...loaded with mayo.Baked beans: Over the top good. Thick with a great smoke flavor, packed with meat; just like I make them. These were some of the best beans I've ever had.Ribs: Six St. Louis. Good smoke flavor, slight "char," and they almost fell off the bone.Pork: It came what I refer to as "stringy." Pulled very fine, the way I like it. But... THEY ADD SAUCE TO THE MEAT! That'a a "cardinal sin" in my book. Good meat does not need sauce...at least not much. The texture was tender, but I can't speak to the taste due to the sauce.Texas Toast: Two slices. If you like butter on your toast, you'll love this. $21 plus a tip; decent price in my book. Overall it was decent. Would I stop again? Well, I was traveling home and it was on the way and stopped. I'd try it again but would not drive 25 miles out of my way to eat there.
