Went for our anniversary because we loved the old Summerhouse and therefore bought TripAdvisorâs â#1 romantic restaurant in Siesta Keyâ hype about this one. Looking forward to a romantic anniversary dinner, we were disappointed to find that the legendary Summerhouse name and TripAdvisor listing had misled us into booking at a very generic upscale casual restaurant - noisy even half empty, people in T-shirts, not so much as a tablecloth in sight. Not an âoccasionâ place at all, but certainly priced like one. Decent restaurant, good service and a good meal, but thereâs nothing remotely romantic about the place. There are lots of better choices for an âoccasionâ restaurant in the Sarasota area, and there are plenty of casual places that offer much better value. No reason to go back to this one.

Siesta Key, Florida: sandy beaches, blue skies, and even bluer water. This is the paradise we call home and the place where we serve locals and tourists from around the world. At The Cottage, we're inspired by our eclectic range of customers. That's why w
Reading the menu made me hungry even before we arrived. Loved all the options. The waiter was excellent...friendly, informative and humorous! I had the tempura shrimp with edamame salad, truffle fries and guava slaw...delish! My brother had the ahi tacos and truffle fries and said they were wonderful and some of the best that he had tried and he travels a lot! My husband had the forbidden salmon. We split the special lemon mascarpone cake with chocolate cherries on the side! Please note that we thought the restaurant was hard to find at night. The sign is hidden by the thatch roof in the front although it adds to the ambiance. I ended up calling the restaurant to find them. Valet parking is best there. My husband wants to return! Great place to have tapas! Hello! We are so glad you found us and enjoyed the "vacation for the palate" we were able to provide you with. Our staff loves hearing the kind words from our amazing guests and I will be sure to share your review with them! We offer complimentary valet 7 days a week beginning at 4 pm right past the Hub Baja Grill, and The Cottage, located right next to our sister restaurant The Summer House. We look forward to having you back to dine with us. Cheers! Katie Spelman-Operational Assistant

Ophelia's on the Bay is one of Sarasota's premier fine dining waterfront restaurants. Enjoy beautiful vistas of Little Sarasota Bay, from the floor-to-ceiling windows that line the dining room. Or join us for al fresco dining on our open-air patio, as the
This has been a favorite place for our anniversary dinner and this year was no exception. A storm was brewing and it was very hot outside so we chose to stay inside but had a table with a view. Over a glass of nice dry Pinot I enjoyed the Faroe Island Salmon that mentioned an "avocado salad with caramelized leeks and bacon bits" but that is a misnomer, it is only a small topping to season the fish but very good. It came with mashed potatoes. My husband had the caramelized New England divers scallops with mashed potatoes, also very good. We chose to share a fresh fruit topped Panna Cotta and they treated us with a toast of champaign at the end. Perfect evening.

We reserved a table of 11 as part of a family vacation. We arrived on time and water was served fairly quickly. It took quite a while to get bread to hold over very hungry kids and to order wine and appetizers. The fried appetizers, calamari and frito misto tasted the same and had very little difference in composition. The calmiri was rubbery and did not taste fresh. Both were salty. The third appetizer, bruschetta, was good, but nothing special. The most disappointing part of the evening was the fact that it took our waiter 1 hour and 15 minutes to take our meal order. This resulted in a 2 hour meal. It appeared that the restaurant was sadly understaffed, even with our waiter working feverishly he could not keep up. The only highlight of the experience was the chef being apologetic and bringing a chocolate dessert to our grandchildren. The dishes were tasty, but nothing uniquely special. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and much better for couples dining than family dining.
