Incredible home made Empanadas with 11 varieties to choose from. We had the mojo smoked pork, beef&pork&cheese, and split a guava&plaintain&cheese for a sweet dessert treat. The owner is the nicest man and will explain the fillings and dipping sauces to you. The dough is made 70/30 mix of corn and yucca, so when it is deep fried, the outside is crispy. Just delicious!Be certain to stop in if you are at satellite beach!
Where to eat Caribbean food in Satellite Beach: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Melbourne has some good Cuban restaurants, but Cuban Island is our favorite. It is one of the several restaurants that we like to frequent due to the consistently good food, great service and reasonable value. We often eat there with other couples on Saturday night when they have a guitar player playing traditional Spanish music. It can get crowded on the weekends, so it is a good idea to make reservations. We always request a table against the back wall because the music can get loud and make it difficult to hear when sitting in the center of the restaurant in front of the guitar player. They have a full bar and good selection of beer, wine and cocktails, but my wife and I usually order the red wine Sangria, which is a large glass filled with Sangria and fresh fruit. We really enjoy it because we find it light and refreshing, it complements the Cuban food well, and is something different from what we usually order at other restaurants. The menu is a good combination of classic Cuban dishes, with other seafood dishes mixed in. We have tried most of the Cuban entrees, but we prefer the Cuban sandwich, which is consistently great. They put a very generous amount of succulent roast pork on really fresh bread, which makes the sandwich a really nice meal. We order it with the accompanying Cuban salad, which is mixed greens with diced tomato and Spanish olives in a light olive oil and vinegar dressing. All of the other Cuban entrees are good, but the portions tend to be small, although they provide ample amount of beans and rice with the entrees. The prices on most the dinners are very reasonable. The service is consistently good. The staff is bi-lingual, and although we don't speak Spanish, many Spanish speaking people eat there and seem to really enjoy it. We avoid the seafood dishes, because we found the portions tend to be small and the prices are too high for the meal. Occasionally, they have specials that are really good, such as the Florida lobster special stuffed with crabmeat. The décor includes an interesting Cuban based motif. If you like Cuban food, or want to try Cuban food, I would highly recommend Cuban Island.

I have been wanting to eat here for a LONG time and always forgetting. Was at a friends house close by and we ordered take out. So glad because it was so good! We had beef and broccoli and the basil chicken that everyone talks about! Both were great and I will definitely eat here again.
