Wee always loved firehouse when we lived in Virginia so we figured it would be the same here. First thing I missed was the welcome greeting. Then the speedy service. Then the yummy subs. It took almost 30 minutes to get or lunch. No thanks. There are too many options around here. Patty, we want you to know that we are so sorry to hear about the lack of welcome and 30-minute wait. What you describe is definitely not part of the fantastic experience we want all of our guest to have when they choose to dine with us. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope you give us another chance. Desirae/Guest Services

Steak 'n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company's name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word "steak" stood for
I have loved this place, actually one in Columbus OH, for 20 years. The Port Charlotte location is identical to the other locations I've visited. They offer a variety of diner classics, like salads, sandwiches, soups, and breakfast. But everyone comes here for the burgers and shakes. The burgers are greasy and very tasty. The shakes are thick and have real ice cream in them. The prices are reasonable, with a large $4 menu. We get coupons in the mail nearly every week. They allow you to use multiple coupons per table which is rare. I prefer Steak 'n Shake to other local burger options (i.e. Five Guys & Culver's) for taste and value. The Achilles heel for Steak 'n Shake is that we rarely receive good service. Sometimes we have to wait for a table, not because they're full, but because the tables haven't been cleared.
Charlotte Fish Depot is a fish market - store front - have supplied fish to many local restaurants for years & is now open to the public - we read about them & headed over last week....wow - great prices - lots to choose from and everything is fresh fresh, fresh...you can also choose to buy frozen.....we bought incredibly delicious perfectly cooked steamed lobsters and mussels which were huge - salmon was wonderful, also purchased (frozen) lobster bisque & clam chowder..prices are very good - take a look at their web site and decide for yourself. The store is ultra clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this "market"....where the word FRESH is what they do best! charlottefishdepot.com
