Rotonda West is an unincorporated, deed-restricted community situated in west Charlotte County, Florida, United States. The U.S. Census Bureau lists it as the Rotonda census-designated place, with a population of 8,759 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Punta Gorda Metropolitan Statistical Area. It was developed and named Rotonda West by Cavanagh Communities Corporation, the developers of a projected but now defunct community named Rotonda in southern Martin County and northern Palm Beach County. Though the layout of Rotonda West precisely mimics World War II airfields in Florida there was not a similar airport at this location prior to development.

I found this restaurant on TripAdvisor, so I thought we would try it out. Service was good, food tasted good, but it's what I observed that turned me off. Waitresses handling money and then making toast. No one wore gloves while handling food. Witnessed waitress stick finger into ear then make toast, waitress handle dirty dishes and silverware than go and set a table with clean silverware. Cook took finger and dragged it across nose than picked up bacon on the grill. No one wears hair covers and watched as one waitress took a hair off a dish.This is what happens when you can watch what goes on.We need health Dept inspections!Not going back!

My friend Harriet thought we should try this place again and I readily agreed since it had been over a year that I had eaten here.Diane was our wonderful server, very attentive and efficient!I tried the GRILLED CHEESE WITH BACON on TOASTED WHEAT BREAD, which came with FRIES, COLE SLAW and we were even offered a complimentary cup of NAVY SOUP.Was that a great deal or what??? All the food turned out to be delicious!Harriet wanted to order the FRIED FISH SANDWICH, which also came with FRIES, COLE SLAW and a PICKLE, but she declined her complimentary cup of soup.Phenomenal prices for great and plentiful food!!!HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

Well, actually I ordered it for lunch, but that's not important. What IS important that it really tastes like old fashioned pot roast, the way mother used to make it, with mashed potatoes (of course!) and a mix of zucchini and summer squash as my sides.I asked Barbara, the waitress who took such good care of me, for some butter for my potatoes, then decided against it, since I remember as a kid I always mashed the gravy right in with the potatoes....YUMMY!!!It was really, really good.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
