My wife and I are regular customers at TooJayâs. We frequent the restaurants in Vero Beach, Jupiter, and Downtown at the Gardens. The meals are good and the staff is friendly. However our recent experience at the Jupiter restaurant was so horrible that I am compelled to write this review. The primary problem was with our waiter John. He ignored us completely. Three tables were seated in another section, ordered and were served their meals before we even received our soup. Drinks took excessively long to be presented, and refills took 4 reminders before they appeared. He often turned his back on us instead of acknowledging his mistakes. Promises of pending service were lies as follow-through on any action was lacking. We observed several other tables in our section having similar problems who were left without food, without service, and without ability to pay since it took him forever to produce the checks and then forever again to cash people out. We were en route up the coast to Vero Beach, and this stop added an extra hour and a half to our trip instead of the 30 minutes we were accustomed to at this restaurant. The next problem was encountered when we spoke with the hostess. We politely suggested that if John was [obviously] overwhelmed, she should seat people in other sections. She acknowledged our suggestion, but then ignored it, seating 3 gentlemen in our section about 5 minutes after the conversation. It's hard to place all the blame on the staff when the problems were likely due to an underlying problem in management. If management doesnât care about the customers, why should the hostess and/or wait staff? Following this disaster of a meal, my wife went to speak with the manager. She explained all of the problems we encountered. All she received in reply was, âIâm sorry.â She didnât acknowledge the problems as problems, and relayed no plan to remedy anything. Until they have a clean flush of current management and staff and revise business practices at this restaurant, we will no longer be going to the Jupiter restaurant. As I said in the beginning, we enjoy the food and staff at the other restaurants, so we will probably continue to frequent them. But based on this experience, upper management should consider closing the Jupiter restaurant until such time that it could be brought into alignment with the othersâ standards.Your loyalty has meant so much to us, and we sincerely apologize that your recent experience did not align with TooJay's standards. Providing attentive and professional service is of the utmost importance to our team, and we want to assure you that what you describe is absolutely not the norm for our location. Stopped at Toojays for dinner after coming from the airport following a long trip. I will make this brief. The service was awful. It took 20 minutes before we had menus and water and almost one hour before food was served. During the 45 minute wait after ordering, one of us went to speak to the manager to inquire about our meal. He said he would check. About ten minutes later, our meal came. Either the server was inadequate or the kitchen did not prepare the food in a timely fashion. Either way, the server never checked on us during this long delay. We were simply ignored. Worst part of all is that one would think that after a manager got involved, that he or she would at least follow up either to make some form of goodwill gesture or simply to show that he or she cares about our dining experience. None of that happened. We never saw the manager again. We spent almost two hours eating a decent meal that was brought to the table at room temperature. We have been regulars at Toojays for over 25 years. Very disappointing. This level of service is definitely not the norm for TooJay's, and we sincerely apologize you felt let down by our team. Please know this matter will be addressed with our entire staff for training purposes, as it's important to us that our guests always enjoy their experiences. We want to make this up to you, so kindly forward your contact information and availability to [email protected]. Thank you.
Where to eat Mediterranean food in Juno Beach: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Food is basic and good. Not great, but fast food places should at least be passable which this was. Not a large selection of veggies to highlight the sandwich. Basically ok but not great.
