I ordered the house special fish sandwich. The lettuce was limp, the tomato was not fresh. It was tasty was overly greasy. My partner ordered the fried shrimp. Small portion for the value. Pelican Alley is one of the longest running restaurants in the state. Believed to be the oldest dating back to 1905. Historic Waterfront Dining!!
First time this season. Love the view here and the remodeling of the restaurant. The seafood chowder was excellent. Downside was the seafood nachos which I was looking forward to. Unfortunately, they were not at all what I expected. Parking was also a nightmare. Probably be a while before I return.

Voted Best Reuben in the State of Florida by the Ticket and Voted 7th Best Reuben in the USA by Mental Floss.
Saw the sign out front for âFloridaâs Best Reubenâ and decided to stop. Ordered the corned beef rueben and it was fantastic! Piled high CB - tender and juicy. Great rye, kraut, and dressing - just a great sandwich. Make the effort to go here - you will be pleased.

Fresh Catch Fish Market & Grill is a family owned restaurant and seafood market located in Sarasota, Florida. Specializing in fresh and wild fish and shellfish. Stop in to check out our selection or give us a call for special orders.
This is one of those places you'd walk by if it hadn't come highly recommended. Long-time residents of Sarasota recommended we eat here; at first, given the location, I didn't expect much. You don't normally find great restaurants in small, unassuming strip malls. Fresh Catch is an exception to the rule. It's a tiny place, and we sat at the bar. We always enjoy watching our food being prepared and so this was a real treat. The kitchen staff runs like clockwork. The result is outstanding, fresh seafood at a decent price. Highly recommend the lobster bisque and the crab cakes. The shrimp cocktail was good (the shrimp were large and I liked that they weren't ice cold, which usually takes away from the taste and texture). However, I found the cocktail sauce to be a bit too much like ketchup -- could have used a kick of horseradish sauce. Otherwise, a great place!

Three stars may be a little harsh, but definitely not worth 4 stars. The food was good... I had their Grouper Rachael and enjoyed it. But our two sandwiches took WAY too long to come out (probably 20-25 minutes). And while I don't mind paying premium prices for premium food, their $3.50 ice tea just can't be justified.
