The Sandollar was originally built in 1954 by a gentleman who lived in Fort George Island. This small but capable restaurant was able to capitalize on the booming American shrimp market from Mayport across the river. The business thrived and created the t
Actually found this while fishing the St. John river with a guide and wanted to find a reason to visit. Colleague in town and was staying near the airport so this worked.Menu has many choices but the daily fish specials are the highlights. Cobia was very good. Nice portion size, good sides (onion rings were wonderful,) and service was good. Nice views of the river from pretty much every spot. Outdoor seating as well. Wish it was closer to home.Recommend.

This is only our second time and I took the advice of a gentleman from our first visit and got the Jumbo Prime Rib Sandwich. It was delicious! It literally melted in my mouth. We started with the cheese stuffed jalapeño poppers which were the best Iâve ever had and Iâve had a few in my life. The seafood is also good from my first visit and both of my wifeâs visits. Service is friendly and the decor is very interesting.

Hard location because it's near one of the best seafood restaurants in the North East. I'm a fan of this place because it has a great variety of food. Service was ok but seemed to be a normal seafood restaurant. Nothing was that special to me

We drove past here on the way to Little Talbot Island and had to turn around to come back. The place looks exactly what you would expect from the outside, not high on sophistication but with tasty food (for instance there seems to be someone with the sole job of making the sauces.) We had some chowder and some gator tail and were impressed by the taste. Worth noting though that southern chowder is different from the northern variety, so for someone expecting the creamier version, they might be disappointed. Really though this place is a small gem and we were happy to find it. So much of Jacksonville reminded us of driving around the parishes in Louisiana and this place encapsulates that.

I have been to St. Mary's many times and have never been disappointed. The waiters & waitresses are knowledgeable & polite. The dining room is clean, tables/chairs are clean & also very important....the bathrooms are clean! The food is just fantastic! I can't say enough about their shrimp & hush-puppies! If you like corn, you will love their cream corn with bacon pieces! Words can't describe! Plus you can plan on taking home a doggie bag. The portions are more than plenty. Prices are reasonable. You won't be disappointed!

Patio seating is great. Had raw oysters and the baked seasoned oysters, both excellent. The sesame ahi tuna was very good, but I've had more flavorful tuna.Thank you so much for stopping by, we are so glad you all enjoyed your meal with us!

Came here from a local's recommendation, and it did not disappoint. Ordered steak and crab legs. Everything was cooked perfectly. Service was top notch and food was very reasonable. This place may look a little unassuming when you drive up but don't let it fool you, you would definitely be missing out!

Marker 32 in our past experience proved it can deliver an excellent experience, but our last 2 visits fell short of expectation. We ate here most recently for a family gathering (7 adults in all). Our table was not the best to begin with (with little to no view), but I expected the food to make up for that. Our starters were the artisan cheese plate, which proved to be far less a creative effort than my previous experiences at Marker 32, with a rather disappointing cheese selection. Our other starter (fried green tomatoes) was up to par. My entree was tuna, disappointing since on a scale of 1 to 10 I would only give it a 7, which is a good bit short of my experience at other local restaurants, and not what I would have expected from a restaurant of this calibre. In fact, no one in our party raved about their entree, another disappointment since 2 of our party were visiting Jacksonville for the first time. Wine and dessert options are good and the desserts we selected did go over well, where mine was an excellent 20 year port wine. Based on having 2 mis-hits in a row, I'm afraid we'll have to think twice before choosing Marker 32 again vs. other fine dining in the area.

Cash only. Its worth every penny. Friday and Saturday Evening, Reservations are required for the Dinner Extravaganza....its an experience you won't want to miss!
OK so maybe not strong on atmosphere, but the food was terrific and plentiful.. Huge plate of lightly breaded fired shrimp cooked perfectly accompanied by a serve yourself bar of grits, collards, homemade fried green tomatoes, cole slaw, maruinated green bean and tomato salad--comfort food southern style. The price was very very reasonable and refills on shrimp were delivered quickly. Parking can be tight.
