Casual Seafood Prime Rib Steaks and Raw Bar

We vacation at NSB each year and this was our second visit to Blackbeard's, the first on this trip. The food is good. The establishment is a steak and seafood restaurant with decent food, a soup and salad bar, basket of rolls with dinner in a casual atmosphere. We enjoyed our meals though we did feel the size of the entres went down while the prices went up. There were far fewer customers here than at the same time last year and we expect the smaller portions and higher prices may be the reason. But everything was good so we probably will come back next year when we want a casual dinner out and my husband wants beef while I want seafood. I would have given Blackbeard's 3 1/2 stars (good vs. very good) had that option been available. It's above average (3 stars) but not very good (4 stars).

This is my second review on this restaurant. The first was mainly about the hot dogs, specifically the Chicago Dogs. Today I ordered the best buffalo chicken sandwich that I've ever had and my wife had what she called one of the best, if not the best, BLT that she ever had. My daughter had the mushroom, swiss, burger and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The french fries and tater tots were excellent as well. Simply because the name references "Dogs" just remember that this restaurant serves more than just dogs (which are also wonderful). Stop in and judge for yourselves. I think you'll be very pleased you did.

We had zero wait on a Monday nite and parked right on Flagler street in front of the restaurant. The local special - sheepshead was outstanding. Get the freshly baked bread and do not miss their teas. Portions are large so you might plan to share in advance. Get the small salad - enough for 2. Very relaxing atmosphere and great service too.

My wife and I love this terrific local eatery. The burgers are the best in town and it has a very cool/cozy aeronautical atmosphere. There is even a model of the Concorde. The staff could not be more friendly and accommodating. While I was there the owner (Matt) took me out back to show me this party bus they have. The sound system in this thing is fantastic!!!My wife had a lovely chat with the other owner Brandi, Matt's wife. They really made us both feel so welcome. All in all a wonderful experience. Can not wait to go back. Sorry it took we a while to write this.

I wanted to surprise my wife by trying this restaurant for the first time. After reviewing the many excellent reviews I thought this would be a winner. Thursday is Schnitzel day here but, unfortunately, we both ordered Schnitzel on a Friday. We were ready for a complete meal with wine and dessert but that did not happen. I started with the curry corn chowder and was just excellent. Could not be better!! The downer was the fact that we both ordered the Schnitzel. The potato was ok and the red cabbage wonderful. Next, we tried to eat the Schnitzel. Mine was over cooked and tasteless and so hard to cut. I figured if I have to pay for this I'll just slice away and finish the entree. My wife on the other hand, tried to cut the pork but it was not going to be easy. She made several attempts and tried two small pieces and stopped eating. Her entree was not just overcooked but the bottom was burned. When it was time to leave the waiter asked if we wanted to take the remainder of the meal home we replied that the meat was already overcooked and forget bout a reheat at home. This a disappointment for us as we were really looking for a nice place for lunch and dinners at a later time. When we were seated there were only two other tables being served so the kitchen crew were not too pressed for serving. I have read four other reviews finding out that they also had overcooked Schnitzel.I am so sorry to read that you did not enjoy your meal here. In regards to other review stating the same issue, it is one of our more popular dishes with very few complaints, but there are times where we do not hit the mark or live up to our guests expectations in which case we would offer to remake the dish or offer something else. I would have loved the chance to make you and your wife another schnitzel that was more prepared to your liking. I was not aware of any such issue until I read the review. Please let me know if you decide to dine with us again and I will make sure that you have the wonderful dining experience that we are known for.Thank you,Jeanette Quintana

We vacation in NSB every September. Last year, we had a simply great meal at Riverpark Terrace so were sure to go back for my husband's birthday dinner. I looked forward to the fried green tomato appetizer that, last year, was the best order of fried green tomatoes I'd ever had. Sorry to say I was disappointed this year. The serving was plentiful but really breaded and deep fried and not at all as it was last time. Good but not great. My husband had creamy chicken and asparagus soup to start which he said was good. My husband's entre of seafood fra diablo also was good and he said the spicing was just right. The server did ask in advance just how spicy he wanted it which was a plus. My entre was the problem. The menu had a blackened shrimp and broccoli dish over bowtie pasta in cream sauce and I asked if I could get it without blackening the shrimp and was told "absolutely" - good answer. However, as the server approached our table with our entries she noted the shrimp was blackened, apologized and took my dinner back to the kitchen. She left my husband's dinner and we waited. We ended up with my husband eating his dinner alone so it wouldn't get cold while I waited for mine. When it did come the server noted that the whole thing was recooked, not just the shrimp. Unfortunately, my whole plate was so heavily doused in salt (and I'm a salt lover) that I could not eat it. Did the chef just substitute tons of salt for the blackening spices? I didn't send it back because, by this time, my husband had nearly finished his dinner. I picked at about 1/4 of it and we decided to get our check and leave and to get my husband's birthday dessert elsewhere. Then it took forever to find the waitress. I think they had moved her to the garden where others were eating. I finally went to the entry and asked her for a check. When she saw I hadn't eaten my meal, she got the manager who seemed confused about what the problem was and thought I got the wrong meal. Long story short -- and most insulting -- was that the manager took off $5 from my $25 entre that was inedible. It would have been less insulting to just apologize or better yet to take the entre off the check.Bottom line: This will be our last dinner at Riverpark Terrace. Such a shame for our birthday "celebration".I apologize for the dissatisfaction with your entree. The shrimp dish is one most favored by our guests and we have addressed your particular situation with the management and kitchen to determine where the miscommunication occurred. We have also credited to your account the full amount of that shrimp entree which is $19.00. Please feel free to call me at 386-478-6398 at your convenience.
