Bidea Hostal is an inviting hostel located in Filandia, in the middle of the "Eje Cafetero" of Colombia. We are located only two blocks away from the central park of Filandia, one of the most typical and colourful villages of Quindio. We have a very friendly and quiet place waiting for you. You can enjoy a first class service in a familiar atmosphere which will make you feel like at home. We are located in the middle of coffee and platano plantations, bamboo woods, fruit cultivations and green meadows, so we are happy to offer you the best of the coffee region in one place.
I met someone who was completely covered in bed bug bites from this hostel. They keep on putting people in the beds, after disinfecting but the same day. Poor travelers :-(. Hopefully this review helps others from experiencing the same. Take care.

Filandia Hostel is a traditional place with colonial arquitecture. If you are looking for a place to relax, to share with family or even for a place to be in touch with nature, to hike, our hostel is the perfect place. We have different types of accomodation with very affordable prices.
Sleep quality: not perfect but acceptable. Rooms on the lower level are too close to the reception, laundry, and patio, so expect some noise. Cleanliness: everything is very clean and towels are changed daily. Location: just in front of bus stop, and very close to main plaza. Very convenient location. Wifi: ok. Service and staff: very friendly, but have limited English. For tourist information, it's better to go to the Tourist Info Center, which is five minutes away. Has a very nice patio, good coffee, is safe, and has reliable hot water. We would for sure return to this hotel and recommend it to others.

We had a lovely stay at this quaint hotel in Filandia, which is more like staying at finca in the countryside, with a lovely view of the valley, than a touristy hotel in town (Filandia is a fine town to visit, but it can get loud with traffic at times, especially trucks and motorcycles). Maurio was a lovely host, who made us breakfast each day. The water was not so hot in the room, but that is okay and part of the rural charm of the place.

After spending a few days in Salento and having already enjoyed my stay at the Selina Hostel in Bogotà, I also wanted to give the Selina in Filandia a visit. Filandia is a small town not far from Salento, which is a little less touristy, but where the people are very welcoming. I can recommend the Selina Hostel to anyone who is looking for some relaxation and nature. The dorms are functional and well equipped, there are even blankets in case it gets colder at night. The bathroom is located directly in the dorm and also has shower gel and shampoo is provided. I was told that the private rooms are also nicely and functionally furnished. The hostel also has a pool and a heated Jacuzzi. There is also a kitchen (which I didn't use, but they have a water filter so you can refill your water bottles there) and a restaurant area that is great for working. A small highlight is the so-called Native Mountain, a small hiking trail with a small river and numerous trees and plants directly between the accommodation house and the restaurant. But what makes the hostel special is not only its location in the middle of nature, but also the warmth and friendliness of the Selina team. You are greeted in the morning with a big smile and have a very helpful team on site. On arrival, I was put into a WhatsApp group where the team was sharing the daily programme and menu (only on the day of my arrival, the restaurant was closed, but the reception suggested to order some food and handled the order for me). While there is a breakfast in the morning (you can choose between eggs, sandwiches, really fluffy pancakes and granola I think- fruits and cafe monañero are always included). Also at lunch there is always a menu with drink for about 18,000 COP while in the evening there is also always a starter and main course for about 25,000 COP. Vegetarian (sometimes vegan) alternatives are also available. And the food was always really great! In the evening, there's also canelazo, a warm cocktail typical of the region. Another highlight in the evening: sometimes there is a bonfire where you can talk to other travellers and sit together in a cosy atmosphere. Probably the biggest disadvantage (but also an advantage) of the hostel is its location. It is approx. 3km from Filandia, but you can take private transport for 20,000 COP or wait on the road for the jeep collectivo (sometimes the locals will give you a lift). A regular cheap/free shuttle service would be very cool here! The hostel also organises and arranges some tours, e.g. visits to coffee farms. There is a river about 6 km away that you can walk to. In line with the Selina concept, a free but very high-quality yoga session was offered every morning (except Saturday) during my stay - a perfect start to the day! I enjoyed my stay at Selina Filandia so much that I even extended it by one day. The team was super friendly and did everything they could to make you feel comfortable, the food was extremely tasty and also quite affordable and the structure clean and beautiful. If you want to spend a few days in nature to do some hiking or just relax for a few days or are looking for a quiet place to read/work/relax, this is the place to be!

is located in the village of Filandia characterized by its colonial architecture, gardens and climate for growing coffee. This accommodation keeps the decoration of our culture drovers , coffee pickers and workers in the area. Colina De Lluvia hostel is a place for rest because it is a colonial house with interior garden and very large backyard , you can listen to good music and have a nice beer.
This may be a one-off type experience but was sufficiently concerning I thought I should share it here. The owner/manager/carpenter Leandro although initially being friendly and hospitable later after getting “drunk” became aggressive and hostile. I actually worried for my safety and had a tough time sleeping. Was thinking of changing hostels or telling the police but this occurred late around 2-3am. The Australian girl I was with was great moral support. Now even if this is a one-off event I would exercise caution if you decide to stay here. At a minimum do not engage Leandro if he has been partaking in extracurricular activities. Good luck

Just 15 minutes by jeep from the village center, in the middle of the coffee fields, Casa Muy ChaCho is the place for you if you are looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy a peaceful environment. The hostel has a large garden with many fruit trees freely available to you. With a family atmosphere, at Casa Muy ChaCho you can feel like home !
We loved our stay here. The owners are really friendly and helpful, they offer cheap laundry service and the rooms are clean. The location is a bit out of Filandia, but actually we really liked this because it meant that it was quiet at night. During the day you can lie in the hammocks and watch hummingbirds feed, or take a tour to a local coffee farmer to see the process of growing and roasting coffee. Filandia itself is lovely and we preferred it to Salento. We extended our stay at Casa Muy Chacho and would definitely stay there again if we went back to Filandia.

Experience the charm of Colombia's Coffee! The combination of different interior styles and location in a typical architecture building gives Jahn Hostel its own identity, with excellent lodging in all of its rooms. The hostel is located in Filandia, Quindio, close to restaurants, cafes, and various attractions As hosts, we offer warm hospitality and friendship, passion for good quality coffee and activities connected with nature and life experiences in the middle of Unesco World Heritage landscape Enjoy a delicious homemade breakfast prepared with fresh, local ingredients served in our charming café with view to main square, an ideal place to exchange experiences with other travellers and with people from the town. You will find dorms and rooms with a bar-lounge area, tourist information desk, laundry room, guest kitchen, free WiFi, and more.
Really enjoyable stay at this hostal. It is an excellent location right in the picturesque town centre. The decor is traditional style but newly refurbished so modern feel. Large rooms with wonderful en suite. More of a hotel feel so excellent value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The cafe is a great relaxed place to enjoy a nice local coffee and homemade cheesecake. And the pancake brunch was delicious! I really liked Filandia as it was less touristy than neighbouring Salento but great access to the beautiful coffee region and the people were very friendly. It was one of favourite places during 5 and a half month trip around South America as I am also a big fan of coffee...
Hostal campestre ubicado a 15 minutos de Filandia, donde podrás pasar agradables momentos con tu familia.
