From the traditional Bobo massages to the therapeutic rays of South Pacific sun, the islands of Fiji offer visitors the ultimate in relaxation. Take a fragrant stroll through the botanical gardens of Nadi before settling in on the beach to watch the sun slip down for the night. Nap in the shade of a Savusavu palm tree, or float in the lagoons of Viti Levu. The waterfalls and lush rainforest of Taveuni Island are peaceful places to commune with nature at your own pace.

We are family owned and operated with over 30 years experience on this property. We have many repeat visitors and have found that a wide range of people enjoy what we have to offer. If you enjoy peace and quiet, water sports, walks, swimming and just lazing on the beach, you should come and visit us. A MAJOR PLUS FOR BETHAMS IS OUR LARGE PROPERTY WHICH ALLOWS VERY GENEROUS SPACE BETWEEN COTTAGES FOR PRIVACY. AND OUR COTTAGES AND ROOMS ARE BIGGER AND BETTER VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY.
Overall, I loved my few days on a secluded island and Betham's was sweet. I had read from other reviews that there is nothing to buy (food) once you are there, so I came prepared. But they should tell the guests this off the bat. The staff was friendly and caring. I believe it is owned by an older couple, and perhaps they are beyond the point of wanting to be in the hospitality business. I certainly understand not wanting to invest in infrastructure for hot water. But there are no hammocks on the property- which are inexpensive and an essential in the tropics. They have these kayaks but they fill up with water- offering broken equipment to guests. They don't have snorkeling gear to rent to guests- it certainly would be simpler for them to rent them to guests then guests need to pack their own, using up precious luggage space. They mentioned to me that the hurricane from several years ago destroyed all the coral and the only safe place to snorkel is right outside their hotel. Well, nobody has bothered to go snorkeling- there is fabulous snorkeling all around the island and especially on the other side. There is not much lodging on the island, but while there, I discovered Safari, and would honestly direct people to go there instead because there is food and activity gear. But Betham's is a sweet spot on the earth and if you go, I am sure you will enjoy it.

Excellent value on the beautiful coral coast. Comfortable self contained cottages on the water's edge. Walking distance to local restaurants. Next door to Outrigger Resort. Great television reception, a bonus in Fiji. Friendly hosts Bob and Coral. We will definitely be returning.

We stumbled across the beautiful family that run the Silana Eco Lodge by accident. We were recommended to visit the beach by the staff at the Levuka Museum. What an incredible family and gorgeous environment they have created! We were treated to delicious delights all afternoon and their generous, friendly, open hospitality. As the first guests after Cyclone Winston we heard of their plans for rebuild. I urge anyone visiting Fiji to visit Silana Eco Lodge. You will see the real Fiji in the warmth of its people and beauty of its environs.

Nananu-i-ra is a beautiful island, away from the crazy party backpacker islands and tourist spots. Spend time relaxing, swimming, kayaking and enjoying nature. I once hiked over to the East (?) side of the island and spent the day on the beach completely alone, so wonderful and peaceful. The lodgings are simple and remember to bring food supplies from the mainland with you. If you are staying for a while you can join the boat run back to the mainland to pick up food etc. Be respectful and keep this place as the tranquil natural paradise it is.
