The grounds border a tidal river for over 10 hectares where more than 10,000 trees have been planted (Filaos, Cordias, Flamboyants, Olocericeas, Niaoulis, Prosopices, Cotonniers) Situated 140 km to the south of Dakar, between the ancient Sine and Saloum rivers, on the edge of Saloum Delta National Park, HAKUNA LODGE basks in a haven of peace between the Atlantic ocean and continental Africa. From Dakar, a 3 hour drive brings you to our private landing where a local pirogue waits for a 35 minute crossing that will immerse you in the calm of mangrove forests before dropping you at the main lodge
The boat ride to and from the property is half the fun! Very relaxing, low key spot in the delta. Went with friends with kids, they managed to make friends with other kids and play together while the adults snoozed in the hammocks on the beach. My friends took the kids on a fishing trip and had a blast. Stand up paddle board and kayaking also provided entertainment. Food was fine and served in an open air canteen setting where we all sat at long tables with the other groups of guests. Staff was very responsive and kind. The bungalows and open air bathrooms were quaint. No hot water. Rooms were clean and had a standing fan and bed nets. Sound carries pretty easily from surrounding bungalows, but folks around me quieted down by 10 PM so it didn't disrupt my sleep. This was great for a long weekend, easy to get to from Dakar. Great value for money; the 5* rating signifies the quality of the stay given the cost rather than luxuriousness. Was great to be able to bring my dog. Would definitely return.

Each of the 4.5 star luxury tented and air-conditioned suites at Fathala Wildlife Reserve is decorated in a romantic African colonial theme with mosquito nets. The en-suite facilities are equipped with twin basins, deep free-standing baths and open-air showers. The suites are equipped with electronic safe, hairdryer, coffee/tea facilities and guest amenities.
I loved my stay in Fathala. Great services, friendly staff, excelent dinner,... You don't get bored, there are morning and afternoon activities and between you can relax at the pool. All was well organized. I especially enjoyed watching animals from the restaurant terrace after the dinner. Tent was beautiful, exactly like in the pictures, very nice surprise for me was the shower. Hopefully will come back again!

Free Activities ! Nested between beaches of white sand and the lagoons of the delta of saloum, ecolodge de palmarin offers a unique situation to associate relaxation and discovery of saloum.surprising architecture because fruit of the interbreeding of several ethnic groups of Senegal. to preserve the harmony of the site, we have 18 bungalow ventilated. Lots of free activities are proposed.
Great location by the sea where you can enjoy some feee activities like biking to go to Differ ( 6km) , boat ridding. The lodge has a nice swimming pool and provide European meals at night ( quite unfortunate if you want to discover Sénégal gastronomy ). However the rooms are FULL of cockroaches not one but so many that it was impossible for me to stay in . The staff did not realize this is an Important criteria for tourist . For me ecolodge does not mean full of insects of all kind so please improve the cleanliness of the room and be more considerate to people .

Free activities ! Situated in edge of lagoon, in the heart of a luxuriant vegetation, Ecolodge de Simal was completely renewed and reconstructed to bring to the charm and to the authenticity which characterizes it, more comfort and quality. So its straw traditional architecture, perfectly adapted to the local microclimate, was protected. Compartments are henceforth sharply enlarged and have shower and w-c privative corresponding in the new requirements and infringe travelers. A particular attention is concerned the activities. Quite free, they are more numerous to take advantage completely of your stay and combine relaxation and sports leisure activities. Numerous excursions are proposed for the discovery and the meeting of the villagers of the Saloum, the region classified in the world patrimony of Unesco. The restaurant outdoors in the shade of the cheese makers or under stars according to the hour, proposes a kitchen rich and varied on base of fresh products.
It’s a great weekend getaway with attentive service, peaceful surroundings and friendly villagers. The price was affordable with full board The huts were made of straw, simple yet cosy. Pool was clean and inviting, it was nice to have a refreshing dip after cycling with fat bicycles around the village, kayaking in the lagoon or just chilling by the pool with a book. Meals by the lagoon offered fine views of the lagoon, watching fishermen and kids in the waters, washing the horses, donkeys or simply playing in the waters. It was also calming Food was served on time and with generous portions. We had salad, beef with grilled vegetables and fries, coconut Cake for dinner. Lunch consisted of fried prawns, grilled fish with vegetables and rice. Points to note the network is not good which is fine if you don’t intend to be watching movies there via the net. I will definitely go back again. It’s a pity that Covid had a big impact to this lovely lodge as we were the only ones staying over weekend. Hopefully they will tide through and have more visitors.

We selected this location because it’s right on the waterfront, small quiet and cosy Plus points - Accessibility to the waterfront - Small and quiet - Friendly service - lots to do eg standup paddle, swimming, biking to nearby villages, walks or just chill Points to be considered - gazillion mosquitoes day and night - reservation - we had to book via Expedia since we can’t get through phone and it’s not avail on any other sites/ but when we arrived the staff told us they have been trying to get delisted on Expedia and don’t monitor bookings there. We were lucky to get a room and get refund from Expedia to pay them directly but it’s after a lot of follow ups. Expedia is a nightmare to deal with - no internet - this place hasn’t been touched up for a while. We are told owner passed away 2 years ago. So pool, room really needs a lot of touch up Restaurant is being rebuilt We only have coffee tea for breakfast. You will have to pack your own bread as there’s nothing nearby We settled Lunch and dinner at miam miam opposite and thank goodness for them as it’s in a quiet area with nothing else I will recommend this place for sure once they get the booking and facilities fixed

I stayed at this hotel with 2 colleagues while working in Palmarin. It isn't fancy but the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly & helpful! The ocean views and beach are gorgeous and they have hammocks you can put up between whichever trees you want to relax under. I was also impressed that the hotel is fully solar powered! I'll definitely stay here again.

The hotel, consists of 7 bungalows on stilts, offers an enchanting amidst a tropical garden. All rooms are air-conditioned and anything necessary provided for your comfort. The swimming pool offers an incomparable view of the delta. The kitchen grastronomique and selection of French wines will delight your palate.Available activities are: fishing, horseback, discovery of the delta by boat, quad, 4x4, etc. ...
We were a bunch of friends on a smashing off-road motorbike tour through Senegal. Stayed at Souimanga Lodge for three nights and were totally pleased. Great location in the mangroves, very friendly service, all lodge houses very comfortable and clean. The pool is rather small but sufficient, the sundowner out in the shallow waters delightful and the dinners varied and freshly prepared. We might have been a bit bored if we wouldn’t have had our KTM and HUSQVARNA bikes with us. But with some great trips to the exciting surroundings all was perfect.
