Farmville has to be the Mayberry of the East. A quintessential American town. The streets are so cute with their antique stores and small coffee shops. The Plank Road Steak House has a old school feel with relaxing couches to wait while your table is being prepared. The staff are friendly. The mixed drinks are amazing. The salad bar is the freshest around. The crab dip appetizer was delicious. The Prime Rib could have been better prepared with a herb crust instead and seemed to be a little under cooked with the temperature we requested but other than that, the meal was delicious.

I usually am in Greenville about 4 times a year. I am a doctorate student at ECU. This restaurant has been one of my favorites for a long time. There is a sign out front advertising a student discount. I showed my ID badge that clearly states 'graduate student' and the man who cashed me out refused to give me the discount. It is not about the $2 it is just the concept. He told me that he had never seen a badge like that and could not use it. As a professional it was just really disappointing they refused to take my student ID. The food however was good but I won't return.

As always, such an iconic place to visit. The bbq sandwich with slaw was very good. I have had it before and this time it lacked the smokey flavor. May have been from a bigger pig or bigger pig part( ham, shoulder). Still one of the best around. Love the pick up window. Best part is the vehicles, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, old vans, pick up truck, etc! No social class here! Everyone welcome!

Nothing else in town was open until 5. We were hungry. It was around 3. Drove over to Jack Cobb's.
We were the only patrons, but earlier when we'd driven by the place was packed.
Sparse interior. Ordered the BBQ sandwich. Cash only.
We sat on the very rustic picnic tables sitting on a concrete slab at the side of the building.
Yum.
Partner had hush puppies with his order. They were the best I've had in NC.

The Little Rocket has been an institution for as long as I can remember. If I want a great red hot dog "all the way" then the Rocket is the place. They also have great vegetable soup, hamburgers, killer chicken salad, and the best banana pudding around. And...if you want a 10 layer chocolate cake it can be yours for $35! Your friends and family will not only be impressed, they will love it.
The Little Rocket is not an impressive place. You stand in line outside to order. They have a few seats to sit and wait. They also have covered picnic tables if you want to eat on site. If you visit during lunchtime weekdays, be prepared to wait. The locals workers will be there in full force. But if you want a quick burger and fries...this is the place.

Stopped to eat at Dixie Queen Seafood Restaurant with a friend on Saturday night. Not only was it Saturday night, it was Valentine's Day! I don't usually eat out on Saturday nights because of the crowds, but I had no choice on this occasion. The place was packed...at 5:30, so I was afraid we would be late for our plans for the night. We were seated quickly and the young lady waiting on us got our order right away. We were served a small dish of great hush puppies along with our drinks. Our food came promptly and was just as requested. My friend had a bowl of clam chowder and extra crispy fried flounder. I had the flounder also with cole saw and broccoli. They have a senior menu but it only saves twenty five cents on the order compared to a small plate. My food was outstanding and my friend said the same. Lots of older patrons there that night so it must be a good place for them. The total for our meals was $20.60 plus tip. Can't beat that for a down home seafood dinner that really gives you plenty of food. Everyone was friendly and we were on our way with time to spare.

The food here is great and I am very glad to have this restaurant in small town Farmville. However, the service is lacking a little. The wait staff are a little slow to take your order and sometimes you wait forever for your food. Just be warned that you need extra time when you want to dine in. Take out and delivery are great options too.

The food was very good. I ordered 2 dinners to take out. I was told the drinks were included iin the price which I did not want a beverage. I think the beverages should be charged seperately. Also, I wish they were opened during supper for people getting off work and don't feel like cooking. Once again, the food was great and I will definitely be back.

CPW's has Italian roots paired with a culinary exploration of global and ethnic food styles.
I have been going there since moving back to Greenville. They have the best service. Best food. It's outstanding and reasonably priced for the excellent quality and independent non chain restaurant touches that you can't get anywhere else. They have an excellent beer and wine selection. Some nights there is free wine tastings and other nights you may see a 3 piece jazz band playing . Not what you would expect from a small college town.
Trust me, you will not be disappointed!!
