I was reluctant to go here as previously I'd had a bad experience but my daughter took us there and I was honestly surprised the quality of food I cannot fault service was good although the main course was a little slow. You have to book a table as it gets very busy and the atmosphere was good. Staff were friendly and happy. Will be going there again. Than you for your review - we are so pleased to hear you came back and gave us another try! We look forward to seeing you again!

Cosy and jolly lovely! The Square Cow is the place to go for great quality home cooked food - food hugs all round.
Had a meal here last weekend - and a thoroughly lovely time. The Pie was excellent and the service really friendly. The staff all knew the area really well so we were able to get a tip off for other places to visit in the area. Highly recommended for a friendly and tasty meal!

Private family run in a semi rural area is a very old fashioned pub . Shaun & Nicola & Family are focused on providing satisfactory service and home made comfort food (not fine dining you order & pay at the bar)In house we have a Pool Table,Darts Board, H
We were staying at the nearby New Place hotel, who were uable to accomodte us at an acceptable time for Sunday dinner, so we went to this nearby pub. Unfortunately they did not serve a Sunday evening meal, so we just had a beer from their good selection of real ales at reasonable prices. It seemed to have quite a few locals there and was a welcoming place. We did look at the menu, and it was varied and not too expensive. Just wished we could have managed a meal there.Thank you for taking the time to review. Unfortunately staffing a Sunday evening for food service has proved problematic. So we use it for some family down time.

Arrived at 4.15 to be told the kitchen didnât open till 5.00. We asked if we would have time to order and eat before 6pm as the children needed to be at a dance lesson. We were told that food came out of the kitchen quickly and this wouldnât be a problem. We ordered food at 5pm, unfortunately they had allowed many other people to order food before the time they told us we could order and at 5.45 there was still no sign of any food. We had to cancel the order and take the children to buy a sandwich at the local coop.Hi Simondsvale,I'm very sorry to hear you couldn't wait for your food to arrive yesterday. We are positive that if you had sampled the food your review score would have increased, but as you say you didn't have time to do so. We take our customers satisfaction very seriously and I would love for you to get in touch so I can make up for this personally. Please email me directly at [email protected] and I will do everything I can to put this right for you. Once again I apologise for the wait for your food, and hope to speak to you soon.

A traditional British Pub, serving locally sourced foods at good prices. We have an excellent selection of Real Ales, Wines, Spirits and Lagers available.
Evening visit, several tables reserved but no problem getting seated.Meet with gusto by who we think is the landlady who checked up on us several times during the evening.Standard menu plus specials board. Nice selection with general prices c£12 for mains. Massive portions and could not finish our plates. Food well cooked and tasty.Restaurant area a little dark and could benefit from better lighting.Nice selection of beers and largers. Attentive service.Large car park to the side and disabled parking at the front. Very clean toilets.

Great fresh food cooked lovingly by our in house team, please call for reservations.
Managed to find a space amongst the 5 available at the rear of the pub. There is ample parking further along at the community centre. There is an entrance from the car park through an original alleyway, passed the beer garden, kitchen, eating area, snug and eventually into the small traditional bar area.Food menu is displayed on a chalkboard by the bar and is quite extensive for the size of the hostelry. This is a great example of a village pub with a jovial atmosphere from the locals. Bowls of freshly cooked roast potatoes circulated through the evening to encourage more drinking. It works too.

Been twice in the last few months and found the food expensive for what it is. shame the owner didn't keep to offering a bit more Italian food as this is what he was doing previously.Hi,I'm sorry if you think that's it expensive but you'll find that we are very competitively priced with any establishment nearby.I think that you have to be aware that first and foremost we are a country pub we offer varied selection of food with an Italian twist but we are not an Italian restaurant. Many thanks

Situated in the heart of Botley, the Brewery Bar offers a fun and friendly atmosphere whether it be at the end of a busy day at work or at leisure, a weekend escape or an evening out with friends or family. With live music every week, open mic mights, pub
After looking at the reviews here about the refurbishment we thought we would call in for a drink. When we arrived we had to wait to be served, when the young girl arrived there was no apology for keeping us waiting. We went to sit in the garden , what a disappointment , it was scruffy and dirty. The outside bar was closed but had two huge speakers blaring out music! What has happened to the lovely area it was with the previous owners? Not sure we will be back.
