We had a couple of lunches here as we were staying elsewhere. It is a lovely spot on the beach and food was pretty good but standard Polynesian fare. We tried the main restaurant one evening but you have to pre-book so we were turned away but luckily found one of the snack places in town open.

Had lunch twice, once Takeout the other dine-in. The first time they were already closed for lunch but the local dive instructor who drove me there asked her to fix something for me because the other snack was also closed and there was no other place to eat.
I had fish with rice for Takeout and grilled fish/fries/vegetables in their dining area.
Food/service/price - kind of all average.

While staying next door, Snack KK was the closest place for lunch, 11:30-2:00. I had the Steak Frite (twice) and a Sandwich (once). Food was good and they did offer me Piment Oiseau (bird peppers) which are very hot and tasty. They also have crafts and pareos for sale. They also had the only postcards for sale on Fakarava, trust me on this one. However, be aware the workers also do excursions so the place might not be open on certain days.

We've had several delightful dining experiences at the Rotoava Grill. We heard their cheeseburgers were to die for and couldn't wait to try them out. The reports were correct, their burgers are outstanding! When we raved about them to the owner she told us her husband is a cheeseburger fanatic. We were given a choice of ketchup or blue cheese sauce. I tried the blue cheese sauce and it was pretty anemic in flavor so I can't really recommend the choice. Plus it adds $3 to the tab which wasn't worth it. We've also tried the steak frites, grilled mahi-mahi, chow-mein and poisson cru. Two thumbs up on these items as well. The location and decor are wonderful - open-air right next to the water. Take a romantic table water-side or a family table under the awning. Service was friendly and accommodating.

We stopped by here for some crepes (and beer) while out riding our bicycles along the coastal road. Several outdoor tables, some with large umbrellas for shade. Food was very good, but bit more expensive than we expected. Great place for break.
