Italian Desserts, New York Style Italian Grinders, Chicken, Eggplant or Meatball Parm Subs, Lasagna and several other pasta dishes. Chicken Salad Wraps and Garden Salads.
Walking around in downtown Waterville we stumbled upon this wonderful Italian pastry shop. Ordered some delicious Cannoli (cheesecake and cookies and cream flavored fillings) and took them back to the hotel in Auburn. I may drive the hour it takes to get there again tomorrow just for the pastries! Wow!

Hillmans is so UNDER PRICED....shhhh
The pastries are pretty good....count the price you pay and they do just fine. Very reasonable.
Staff is usually busy but pleasant and always helpful. Nice job. I would def return. My girlfriend lives nearby..so I have a reason to swing back and Will.
Thanks!

A Maine staple near the I-95 intersection in Fairfield is the Purple Cow, locally known for its plentiful breakfast entrees and a wide variety of toppings served on their 12" diameter pancakes. And, here was the problem with our meals. Those enormous, thick pancakes need to be cooked thoroughly to avoid the mushy, pasty centers that are wasted by being left on the plates. We ordered a single pancake with egg, with which iany mere mortal should be satisfied and sated, only to be able to eat around their margins where the batter had been cooked properly. It was criminal to leave a third of the meal on the plate only because the kitchen wasn't paying attention to the product being served to the patrons. Even though the restaurant is in Maine, a maple syrup producer, the pancake syrup is corn sugar based, which is somewhat of a disappointment. Coffee is nothing different than what you can expect from a Bunn machine where the carafe temperature is too high, resulting in that burnt taste to a thin cup of java. Our waitress appeared to be over obligated with her duties, as we were attended to shortly after we arrived and were served our drinks, when our meals arrived out of the kitchen, and after having been flagged down to provide us with a bill. Overall, our Sunday brunch was no better than average for the area and, at worst, below average in what arrived on our table. The Purple Cow may have been voted the Best Value Meal for two years running, but value seems to override quality in our case.

We are a slightly upscale Steakhouse that also serves a nice variety of Seafood as well as Baby Back Ribs. Our Vegetarian selection is sure to please the most delicate of pallets.
Yum! Had the Fireside Salad with beef tips -- beef tips tender, done to order and plentiful! Son had stuffed haddock special. House rolls served -- all yum! Total bill $40 which is reasonable for serving size and steakhouse quality. Will go back in nicer weather so can sit on the porch and watch golfers!

We walked in to stretch our legs while beginning to head back home. The service was prompt and the drinks were good and hot.

18 Below offered oysters just harvested from a bay not more than 50 miles from Waterville. The freshness was absolutely incredible as was the briny flavor. They were the very best raw oysters I have ever eaten. They were so delectable I had a second order for dessert. The salmon was delicious as well. It was perfectly cooked, flakey, and well prepared.

At first glance Belanger's looks like a 1950's drive up restaurant, but it is so much more! With indoor seating and a parking lot ready for a fun family dinner in the car, Belangers has everything from shrimp or fish dinners, through all grill favorites, including a steak sandwich, hamburgers and hot dogs. these dishes can be accompanied by yummy fried green beans, mushrooms, cheese fries and lots more. (The cole slaw is great!). After dinner the ice cream awaits! Both hard and soft serve are available, and both can be made into all kinds of great treats. It's a fun place with a play ground for the kids, and picnic tables in the shade for a nice summer day. (Resturant is seasonal- so if it's fall or spring call first to see if they are serving!)

Old fashion windows welcome you to Gifford's. The staff was very friendly and patient with indecisive children. We ordered small cones which were very generous 2 scoops. We tried to tip the staff but they could not accept but suggested putting $ in chariot tin they have for veterans. Admire company that installs those values.

Second visit to this tiny side street bakery; only offering is bread- round, loaf, baquette style....and all delicious and a real bargain for a HUGE loaf for $4.00!! I believe the couple are from the Ukraine....certainly from eastern Europe....and a real success story for immigrants who bring their skills to us!!
