To just call Brick & Fire Bistro an Italian restaurant wouldn't quite describe it. The space is focused on our wood-fired brick oven - the 'cornerstone' of the kitchen. In it we do everything from bake breads & pizzas, roast lamb shanks & pork chops, and bake ziti and polenta lasagna! We have a wine list offering more than 25 wines by the glass, local beers on tap by Redwood Curtain Brewing, and comfortable, professional servers top off your experience. We love serving the food we love.
This is a place for foodies. Wild mushroom cobbler is to die for! Great texture and flavor. We split the peach and porchetta salad, game hen and fresh broiled vegetables. All were excellent with great presentation and flavor. Service was good and the wine list was excellent. Must have reservation and the wine bar is a great place to wait. Will return.

The Carter House Inn is a luxury, boutique hotel in in historic Eureka, California. It is known both for housing Restaurant 301 and for being a replica of a Queen Anne style building by Newsom & Newsom, renown builder architects of many 19th century structures in California. Restaurant 301 has a 3,800 bottle collection of wine and has been awarded the "Grand Award" from Wine Spectator magazine for 19 years running.
It was the service that killed it, honestly. It was almost rated a 3, it took so long to dine. And it seemed like each server was on their own; No one was helping each other. It's a gorgeous place, wine list is excellent, food...MoreSo glad you enjoyed the dining experience at Restaurant 301 while you were here at Carter House Inns.

The Banana Hut Hawaiian BBQ brings authentic island cuisine to the Mainland, in a fun, festive atmosphere. Lunch comes in big and small kine plates lunches. We offer all the local Hawaiian favorites including slow roasted kalua pig, sweet and tender pineapple ribs, lau lau, loco moco, kalbi ribs, chicken katsu, saimin noodles and of course spam musubi. Lunch starts at eleven in the morning. Dinner is served daily from five to nine in the evening. More extensive menu at Dinner.
I found this place on TripAdvisor and was very happy that I did. The waiter, Michael, was great. I have the fries covered with pork, cheese, and gravy. They were great. I also had the teriyaki chicken which was fantastic. The drinks are very strong....MoreAloha! Thanks for the kind words. I'm really glad you enjoyed your Kalua pig fries and Teriyaki chicken. Two good choices! I hope you stop by on your next trip through Eureka. Mahalo!

Recommended by the hotel, food was so so. The Squash Bisque had an overwhelming beef broth base, the clam chowder was okay but clearly thickened with corn starch. Salmon was dry, pan fried oysters were tasty. The drinks were good, particularly the pink pear martini. Cute place with good atmosphere, friendly staff.

The Chalet House of Omelettes is very busy on a Sunday morning, so I recommend getting there early. Plenty of parking even for oversized vehicles. We were lucky and got the last table, but these gals are speedy and keep things moving. You won't have to wait long even when the line is outside. Everything tasted great. We had crab eggs benedict, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy, and regular eggs benedict. Everyone was very happy with their meal. Our server was wonderful and outgoing. Considering how busy they were the food arrived quick. When visiting family in Eureka we will go to the Chalet.

We really enjoyed the beer and food at Lost Coast. Nice variety of beer and they weren't super hoppy. My favorite is Downtown Brown and my husband can't decide between Tangerine Wheat or Raspberry Brown. We both liked our meals and the service was great.

I don't eat bagels often because if it's not a really good bagel it's a lot of carbs and chewing for very little joy. I knew from eating at Los Bagels in Arcata on past visits that the Bagels are very good. We were mooching around Old Eureka after shopping in Arcata and Henderson Village and worked up an appetite. I got the Parmesan bagel with cream cheese, cucumber, Larrupins mustard sauce and "slug slime," which is all the great salt and seeds from their slug buns. Wow! Also be sure to try my friend Jody's amazing corn and lime cookies. The ice tea is Earl Grey and interesting. Order at the counter and find a seat till they call you.

This is an old historic building that has been serving meals since 1893. It was originally for the workers at the mills and later opened to the public. Lots of antiques and pictures and a museum. The food is very good and served family style. The menus change daily so you need to check to see what is being served. Soup, salad, homemade bread, two main dishes (we had fried chicken and roast beef), potatoes and gravy, vegetables and dessert. It was all very good. You can ask for seconds as well. The price was reasonable at $17.95 pp. They do offer senior discounts. Not fancy but good food.

Gallagher’s located in the Eagle House has a nice, cozy atomosphere. It has a large variety of beer and you can’t go wrong with their fish and chips ( cod, halibut) for lunch. The Eagle house is the unofficial southern anchor of Old Town and is worth a visit.

I have eaten here several times and always enjoy the good food, great service, and proximity to Old Town Eureka with its unique shops. Though I've enjoyed several breakfasts here, alone or with company, it is the dinner meals I find myself craving. They have a wonderful wine selection and fresh fish options, along with other tasty things on their menu. I rarely have time for dessert but have eyed it as it was served to other guests - one of these days will just have to do it! A wonderful place with a great location for locals and out oft owners alike.
