A chance for a wild and authentic Ethiopian experience. Camp in a pre-pitched and fully equipped tent or sleep in a traditional mud and grass hut right beside the beautiful Blue Nile Falls.
We were so glad we decided to stay, out only regret was not being able to stay longer. Tamasgen really is the host with the most and was an integral part for our enjoyment, but the other staff were equally excellent and friendly. The views are hard to beat, having a beer in a hammock overlooking the falls, next to trees with a seemingly endless supply of different birds tweeting and hopping about. The food is well priced and very tasty also. Waking up early to watch the sunrise over the falls, while the locals farmers start their days, with 0 other tourists about make it that much more special. Can't recommend highly enough, one of our favourite places in all of Ethiopia!

We came to stay as a couple we met in Bahir Dar had recommended Tim and Kim’s and we were very glad we made the trip. Idyllic location. We had a great view from the bungalow and a very comfortable stay. Mebratu was really helpful in retrieving something we had left in the hotel in BD for which we were very grateful. We had a great time on an early morning canoe trip - the birds on the lake and in the gardens to the bungalows were amazing. Kim and Mebratu were very hospitable. And the food was great. We were sorry to leave and hope to get back one day.

We didn't sleep at the tents but took a long day in the adventure park, restaurant and spa. Wonderful and relaxing experience, certainly worth a visit, and the place is constantly developing so we will be looking forward to come there again!

We spent a night camping on Zege Peninsula. The sounds, cool shade and smells of the lush coffee forest were really refreshing and waking up to a group of hornbills two meters in front of the tent is something beyond description. The view of the forest and the lake in the morning is absolutely beautiful. The family that run the site made us feel very comfortable. They had cool old-school tents that they can set up for you, or you can bring your own (as we did). There was a wonderful campfire and the tastiest coffee ceremony. The injera (teff pancakes) served with shiro (lentil sauce) were the best we had for the whole of our stay at Bahir Dar. There were also two (simple but adequate) bathrooms. In the morning we walked down through the forest and saw monkeys, hyrax, butterflies, a big monitor lizard and cuckoos, as well as visiting the exquisite Ura Kidane monastery and then we took a boat trip back to Bahir Dar. All in all the best experience of our whole trip!

I booked this place via others living in Ethiopia as I could not find a place elsewhere for our group of 7 people. I agreed in writing the price in local currency, but upon payment in cash in local currency they requested a 15% price increase as they expected Euro. I discussed long with the manager Mr. Elias, and the owner of the hotel, but no way to pay the original price, not even with regards to the fact that 1) the "Full Breakfast" missed juices and fruits, 2) water in the shower was absolutely insufficient for taking a shower 3) there was no electricity before 19:30 or after 19:30 4) internet did not work at all. This place has some potential, but they must tide it up, clean and dramatically improve their services and customer focus.

Abrham Tadesse was a great guide and host. Tadesse eco camp is a wonderful very traditional village stay, the family is warm and takes great care of you. The hiking is excellent and rock churches fascinating. Prices are good and Abrham will take excellent care of you.

If you want to be in Turmi unfortunately they’re not that many options and this hotel is considered one of the best in that area but you have to really really lower your expectations. The rooms are very basic, the food is not good, you don’t get value for your money. Meanwhile, the positive things are that the staff are very friendly, the hotel is very close to hummer tribe, the rooms have working ACs.
