I've had lunch a couple of times here. I'm impressed by the speedy and efficient service. The restaurant is popular with well-healed locals and expats alike. With seating outside and in an open restaurant area - it is popular and buzzy. This place boasts a wood fired pizza oven and the results are good - crispy bases, generous sizes and a good selection of toppings. It also has some great gelato for dessert.

Tucked away in downtown Libreville, the Mississipi is a value for money grill. I ate here four times during a three-week stay in Gabon and each time was excellent ... grilled sole, langoustes, gambas, capitain, chicken or steak kebabs, all first class fare. Not gourmet standards but certainly gourmand. Highly recommended for those who want a home-cooked feeling meal. You may have to book ahead or wait a bit for your meal ... all main dishes are prepared once you order. Friendly staff and reasonable selection of accompanying drinks.

The food was good, and the view was even better. The restaurant is poolside and located in a major expat area, and just down the street from the American Embassy, Presidential residence, and Onomo Hotel. The food is pricey but the evironment is great. This time of the year, there was a wedding there nearly every weekend, so you have to squeeze in when you can to grab a bite or to swim a lap or two.

You are overwhelmed by the pizza choices and variants you have never heard about before. At a bit after opening time (19) I was about the only guest, but at 21 it was almost full - a popular choice by local, expats as well as the odd tourist. The location on harbour is a bit uncomfortable, so take a taxi or walk quickly to the main road nearby.
