On the far western side of the Lake District, the 17th century Inn at Ravenglass is located right on the waterfront - where the National Park reaches the sea giving fantastic views over the estuary The Inn's bar serves a fantastic selection of real ales a

Despite the mention on the page we do NOT serve vegan food or speciality milks. Despite the mention on the page we do NOT serve vegan food or speciality milks. There is mention somewhere on the Net that we have Camper Van parking - we are afraid that this
This is a great pub in a lovely location on the station platform. The interior has a line of old railway seats right next to the platform and a pleasant garden the other side. The beer is well kept and, when they could make a fortune by fleecing tourists, everything is very good value, staff are friendly and efficient and the food is decent. I had the Cumberland sausage which was a little greasy, but still tasty. Highly recommended! Thank you so much Beeza for your brilliant review!I have been away and was unable to respond promptly to you.Your writeup really gets to the heart of what we try to achieve at the Ratty arms, ie good all-round value for money in a welcoming environment with well-kept beer. We take note of your observation about the Cumberland sausage and will look into what would have made it greasy for your visit.Very kind regards - Bev (proprietor)

I didn't know what to expect in a pub seemingly in the middle of nowhere and was delighted with the menu, which was an assortment of traditional pub fare, local meats, and lovely puddings (desserts). It's a busy place so call for a reservation. Service may be a tad slow due to the busyness, however it's a great opportunity to soak in the ambiance of this old building. I left wanting to go back for a second and possibly third meal however only went on my last evening so couldn't :(

Brilliant country pub, decent range of ales and excellent service. Lots of tables inside and out. Menu had a good selection; pie was amazing with lots of succulent meat, lots of Vegies but over cooked chips - lovely gravy. Let down by sub-optimal sauces ( wot no Heinz). Good selection of deserts but we were all full so we didnât try. Lots of families and dogs welcome

The food is perfectly acceptable.Scallops were particularly good- big, plump and well cookedBut my major problem is dogs in the dining room. I canât understand how the hygiene inspectors can allow it. So if you like other peopleâs dogs sniffing around your ankles whilst you eat, this is a good choice.Hi, We have always been a friendly pub and due to out in house procedures have consistently received 5* for our hygiene. We don't allow dogs on our furniture or tables, don't allow anyone to feed their dogs from our plates or using our cutlery and ask owners to be mindful of keeping their four-legged friends under control and away from others. Even our dog-loving staff avoid contact with dogs during service times and make sure that they wash their hands should any contact occur at any point. We also ask dog owners to keep their dogs on a close leash whilst in the dining area and we'll make a point of mentioning this to owners who are dining or drinking with us.Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed your food.

Went there for a meal with 2 'locals', great choice and the food was excellent, Cajun Chicken, Moroccan Lamb, and a special. Price was good considering the quality, and additionally the beer was spot-on.Highly recommended but may need to book in advance .

On a small road between the Boot Inn and Hardknot pass.
If you have just driven your 90 year old mother in law over the Hardknott Pass, what do you need? Obviously, a cream tea! And that's just what this ubiquitous bar/cafe/restaurant provided! And excellent it was too! Thanks!!

The Boot Inn nestles in the tiny hamlet of Boot, deep in the heart of the Eskdale Valley. Within easy walking distance of The English Lake Districts largest and most majestic fells, yet only 7 miles from the sea. We provide first class food, drink and acc
Just returned from a 1 night stay in The Boot Inn. Visiting daughter who is working in area for summer and to celebrate her latest work achievements. All four of us spent the night and had a meal. Really friendly welcome when we arrived, shown to rooms and a table booked for later. Food was excellent. Catered well for the 2 veggies in the party. Rooms clean and comfortable. A delicious hearty breakfast too.We stay quite frequently in pubs with rooms and what set The Boot apart was the friendly relaxed atmosphere. 2 lads behind bar last night lovely. Girl at breakfast equally so. Oh and a lovely cuddle from Frankie the boxer pup. It really makes a difference when the staff are all so nice. We canât wait to return.
