I stopped in for lunch while on break from jury duty yesterday and was just so tickled by this café. I had their "Beatrix Potter" on wheat with pasta salad. Cream cheese, cucumber, tomato, and sprouts. YES! It was wonderful. I can't wait to have a Panini next time. Enjoyed a nice glass of iced tea as well. It's a tad noisy at lunch time, but it's nice to hear everyone chatting and enjoying themselves. Don't hesitate to stop here for lunch. I believe they have breakfast items as well, and their lunch menu is quite impressive......I will edit this review when I return.

I come for my coffee every day and the girls, without exception, are friendly and efficient. Coffee is consistent.. good everyday! Owners are conscious of cleanliness, friendliness, and just really have a great business! Coffee is perfect every time!

We have lived in this area for a fairly long time. However, we seldom eat in Ephrata. Since we were nearby one Saturday evening we chose to come to Time Out Pizza. (One of my former culinary students works there.)
You order at the counter and pizza is delivered to your table. There's a full side of the menu devoted to a variety of pizzas. The other side of the menu has sandwiches, sides, beverages and other alternatives.
Service was friendly and quick. The young ladies were busy taking orders, preparing food, filling the salad bar and tidying up the dining room. I will say there was a table of five with two young children that left a fair mess on the floor under their table. One of the young ladies cleaned the table and picked up most of the food on the floor.
I'd recommend this as a viable alternative to chain pizza joints.

I have tried several different coffee places in town and this one has the best blended mocha. 123345667689293747484884

It was cold outside at 17 degrees and about the same inside. No heat working, but we braved the deep freeze and we're not disappointed. The steak and chicken fajitas was very good. Onions and peppers where nicely charred with the side dish of beans, rice, tomatoes lettuce sour cream is awesome!

We got into Ephrata tired and a bit late. The guy at our motel recommended D K's.
Tasty burgers that came very quickly with the extra onions I'd ordered.
Good root beer float.
I don't know what the standard would be for an "excellent" fast food place, but this place was good enough to consider rating it so.

All the gals are very friendly, the coffee is great, lots of choices - blended, hot, cold, chai tea, red bull drinks, Italian sodas, service is fast, convenient location. They even have ice cream in the summer! Super good place to stop!

It's refreshing to walk into any ethnic restaurant and hear a combination of English and regional voices in conversation. That tells me this isn't watered down for American tastes.
A recent stop at Tequilas restaurant offered my wife and I to check out their menu after a very long time since our previous visit (many years). Seeing a pork enchilada I zoomed in on that. My wife chose Chile Colorado, a favorite of hers.
While this was a Saturday, it was late in the afternoon, long after the lunch rush and long before the dinner rush. There was a large group of women in the bar seemingly having a great time. The dining room had several tables sat with a mixture of Hispanic and Caucasian. It had a very nice feel to the place. The dining room was clean, well lit and had a warm feeling to it.
Chips and salsa and waters were quickly brought to the table. I'm very fond of the "slaw" type salsa and my wife loves the tomato based offerings. My slaw was the best I've had anywhere. It was crisp, tasty, vinegary without being overpowering. There was the right amount - quite unusual for most restaurants who serve far too much (this coming from a professional in restaurants). My wife's offerings were substandard. It was very watery and tasteless. It was as though it was literally watered down to stretch it a few more bowls. It was served in a sherbet cup. Certainly it was the right amount, just the wrong vessel.
When the food arrived, after a seemingly long time considering, both my pork enchilada for $10.50 (picture included) and my wife's Chile Colorado at $12.99 (picture included) looked very appealing. (The server forgot to bring out my wife's tortillas.) Things would quickly change. My lunch was fantastic with the exception of the rice which needed seasoning. My wife's plate was totally lackluster. Even a healthy dose of sodium (salt) couldn't pick up the blandness of the meat. While my pork was fall apart tender, her beef was chewy and dull tasting. That meat needed a lot more "love" in the kitchen in both the seasoning department and cooking time. It was as though someone had scooped out what was on the stove to get it on a plate and sold.
Our service was decent without being overbearing. Even though both the servers on the floor sat to eat together at the same time they both got up for their different customers remembering that it's the customers who pay the bills. Lunch for two, water only, $23.49 plus tax an gratuity.
Will we go back? Probably. Will it be soon? Unlikely.

This was my 2nd time here & had great customer service again. It is not hard to tell why it is the business of the year 2016 for the Ephrata Chamber of Commerce!
After a grid kid football game of my sons we went as a family, 6 of us. She showed my kids & explained what a pita is (apparently I have failed as a parent in world bread education with my children). They all picked their favorites & she even put ketchup on one for my younger son that thinks it is a food group. Will return every time I am in Ephrata, an hour away from my home.
