The Hualongcun Hotel is set in a park complex and is architecterally styled in the traditional sense - lots of wood and detailed painting making it very pleasing to the eye. Check in was handled by our tour guide - a grasp of basic Mandarin phrases would be an advantage if checking in without backup, as naturally the location of this hotel would indicate it is geared more for the national market. We later failed in organising a laundry request but this was purely down to our poor pronunciation! Having checked in, our twin room was clean and comfortable, with low beds and good a/c. The windows aren't the best though, and noise can be heard from groups exiting the restaurant opposite. Robust in-room wi-fi a bonus. The hotel bar is a tea bar but the staff were quite happy for us to purchase beer from the small shop located in the reception area - in turn, the shopkeeper was happy for us to chill the cans we had purchased prior to arrival in her fridge, as the minibar in the room was locked for some reason. They were also quite happy for us to enjoy a takeaway meal in the bar area that we had purchased and brought back late one night. Breakfast is located in the buildings opposite and down a tunnel, and is permitted on a daily basis by the use of guest vouchers. Varied Asian fayre but with fried eggs cooked to order! The restaurant is also located upstairs in this building, ordering in a private room with an i-pad making the event less of a communication gamble! Food was excellent. This is an ideal establishment from which to explore the stunning scenery in the Enshi region, and if I got the chance to do it all again, I would not hesitate to stay here!

Mövenpick Hotel Enshi is located in Enshi tujia and miao autonomous prefecture which is known as The Forest Sea of Western Hubei , Central China Pharmacy, Kingdom of Tobacco, World Selenium City. It is the first international five-star standard hotel in Enshi. It is also the first Mövenpick Hotel in China. Mövenpick Hotel Enshi offers 240 guest well-designed rooms including 1 Presidential Suite and other Suites. Our room features a fusion of modern and local Tujia culture. We are trying our best to offer you a comfortable accommodation. Our hotel has an easy access to Business Center, Airport, Train station, Convention and Exhibition Center as well as many local natural wonders. With the advantageous geographical location, Mövenpick Hotel Enshi is an ideal venue for business and leisure trip.
Enshi is not exactly a city known for high end hotels but Movenpick did surprise me with its upscale feel. During a recent trip to the area, we stayed for four nights and had a very good experience. The room is large and well lit. Good sound insulation means we barely heard anything from the outside or through the walls. Breakfast was good enough so that I didn't get tired of it. Best of all is the polite and helpful staff. For some reason, it isn't easy hailing a taxi in front of the hotel and the concierge doesn't seem to be able to call for one by phone. We found out the hard way one time when we stood for a good five minutes without seeing any taxi. Here comes the concierge named Ma Liang who tells us not to worry. He promptly runs out to the street to where we couldn't see him. After about five minutes, we see this taxi drive up with Ma in the front passenger seat. On the last day, we needed to take a taxi to the airport and once again Mr. Ma comes to the rescue by flagging down a taxi as we waited alongside with our luggage. He is very helpful for sure but I think the hotel needs to come up with an easier way to call for taxi so that he can do provide other services to more guests.

The hotel is located at busy street, but the room was quiet because it was in building B at the back yard. Hotel looks well maintained and clean. Receptionist was professional. Breakfast was in Chinese style. It was nothing for foreigners. Many shops and restaurants are nearby the hotel. Bus stop is in short distance including direct connection to the railway station. Hotel is not cheap but it was good choice for two nights stay.
