There is probably some irony that this establishment is situated almost on the site of the former Simonds Brewery as craft beer seems to be the acceptably precocious, lightly fizzy, grandson of real ale having been parented by headbanging lager and keg bitter. Actually, I feel quite well-disposed to it as it normally has flavour, bite and strength, and its production is taken both earnestly and seriously - almost evangelically!Bit hard to assess how popular it is amongst the enthused masses based on our recent Wednesday lunchtime visit; there were no more than a dozen other customers during our three hour stay. I imagine it's a lot livelier on a Saturday night. So plenty of room for my pal and I, and no problem finding a table in the large ground-floor restaurant area around from the bar. I actually found the menu quite appealing as some of the pizza and pasta choices seemed rather adventurous. However, as I'm not too keen on wafer thin pizza bases no matter how tempting the toppings, pasta was the way to go. Lime and tequila chicken tagliatelle sounded particularly enticing and I wasn't disappointed. A generous well-cooked portion that was both flavoursome and piquant, with several lime wedges to squish into the creamy sauce. Would probably make an italian suicidal but I thought it was quite a wacky dish.On a bit of a roll, I couldn't resist a dessert involving pizza. In reality, a folded base smeared with caramel sauce, covered in pecans with a blob of ice cream. Not exactly a fluffy texture - a steak knife (or pneumatic drill) might have helped to tear it apart. Very indulgent, and apparently very few punters can finish one. I did, but wouldn't bother again.I feel that all of the above might have been better washed down with a glass or two of red, but I stuck to mango flavoured beer which seemed more effervescent as lunch wore on.Interestingly, only one front-of-house guy seemed to be on duty during our entire visit, not that he was particularly rushed off his feet. He certainly coped ably and was polite and efficient both on bar and restaurant activities. So, overall, not an unpleasant experience

Located on the corner of the George Hotel thought to be the oldest building in the town and at the heart of Reading. Oracle entrance is just steps away and within easy reach to the train station and local business parks. Prezzo Reading has a refreshingly
This Italian restaurant is above average for the many Italian chain restaurants. The menu is what one expects and has a good selection. Service was pleasant and the prices are reasonable. I don't mind stopping again here next time I'm in the area.

I have eaten at Ask many time but most recently when they fed the Reading pride volunteers. The pizzas provided were excellent and much needed and the staff were so accommodating when we went to pick the food up. Big thank you to Marco and the team for supporting Pride and for the delicious food!

At Zizzi we like to do things a little differently. We donât do over-complicated recipes or scrimpy portion sizes. Weâre all about the well-chosen ingredients, simply put together to make exceptional Italian food. This restaurant is situated slightly off t
I love Zizzi's but this visit was disappointing. Extremely slow service, even just waiting for drinks. Food average and menu items not available. The acoustics are loud and its hard to hear people talk when it's busy. Staff very polite and friendly they just seemed overworked.

One of Readings premier party and cocktail venues with a full food menu served all day until 10pm and stone baked pizzas served all night. Serving great British bar food including burgers, wraps and steaks. With free wifi, the venue is perfect for both wo
We met a friend here for a meal on a mid week evening. Service was ok, nothing special, just ok. The same went for the bar staff, just ok. The food was good with plenty of flavour and for what we had it wasnât expensive. The main problem is the staff need to try harder. It might have been that it was a quiet night. Would go back again if passing. Hi Oakwoodfencing, thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback on your visit. At Cozze we aim to provide simple and fresh food with a warm and friendly service in a clean and nicely decorated surroundings. We cater for all ages. Families welcome.
We took my son here for his 21st birthday as the reviews were generally good. We managed to find street parking nearby but parking is a problem and beware of parking in TGI Fridays as you may get fined. The staff were very pleasant and very attentive maybe as it wasnât very busy. We had the platters to start which were both delicious. Everyone was happy with their mains which were plentiful and packed with flavour. The biggest disappointment was an Italian restaurant that doesnât have Tiramisu on the menu. The desserts we did have were slightly disappointing but didnât detract from what was a great evening. Very reasonably priced with good discounts if you look online.

Homely Italian restaurant with fresh homemade food, only a few minutes of walk from the centre of Reading! Whether it is a romantic evening for two, a casual family and friends "get together" or a business dinner, you will always find something for you in
As the 6th highest rated we thought it would be decent. No qualms with the service, top notch. The wine was fine although it was the second most inferior type, grapes went even listed on the bottle. The calamari was good but expensive. The pizzas are well presented. Even 1.5cm crust and even 1cm tomato puree border. However, they were expensive and pretty tasteless and we didn't fancy eating them. We were offered chili oil but that's masking them. We hoped the place would be great, however we'll skip our anniversary and further thoughts on returning. Wife prefers Papa Gs among others.(I used to have 400,000 TripAdvisor followers, however with gdpr the number is no longer listed)

Booked in advance on a Saturday evening, we were squeezed into a place where the waiters struggled to get by us.We were upstairs and there was a noisy table, and because of the acoustics, we could hardly hear our conversation. The food was average to poor (seabass very thin and not good), and when part of the desert was missing (no giant chocolate shavings on the chocolate brownie), it was very much a take it or leave it approach from the waiter. The second drink that I ordered never appeared, but they still tried to charge for it.An experience not to be repeated.
