Find out what European restaurants to try in St Ives. St. Ives boasts a quartet of golden-sand beaches. Sheltered coves draw swimmers and sun-worshippers, but water-sports aficionados visit St. Ives for great surfing, windsurfing and water-skiing conditions. And on your way there, keep your eyes peeled for a dude with seven wives. You never know when nursery rhymes might come true.

Down on the sand at Carbis Bay Beach you will find our laid-back Beach Club Restaurant focusing on sun-soaked Mediterranean-style delights such as hand-picked Cornish crab, fresh fish caught locally from St Ives day boats, steaks and homemade wood-fired p
We had previously called here on a sunny day and enjoyed drinks sat outside overlooking the beach. On this visit heavy showers were forecast so we sought shelter inside and enjoyed the view, watching the rain and hail outside. The tea was good and my partner really enjoyed the shortbread biscuits.

After our long drive down to St Ives we always treat ourselves to supper in the Brasserie and this time we were all buzzing with the excitement of England having won the Cricket World Cup!The ambience is very pleasant, relaxed yet not too casual, and the staff mostly very attentive (sometimes when it's busy you have to catch the eye of a passing server). There is plenty of choice, and between us some selected the roast dinner, others pasta, or fish. The popcorn prawns to start were really tasty and the seabass very good, although compared with prices in town, this is quite expensive

Letâs start with the many positives- good efficient staff, prompt service, interesting menu and reasonable prices. Itâs a busy establishment with a delightful outlook over the harbour. All this leads me to say it is a good choice for a pleasant dinner. However, while my partners seafood pasta bake with side salad met her hopes, my crab linguini with fresh chilli was disappointing. The flavour I anticipated was not delivered as the chilli was totally lacking in capsaicin, the active ingredient that makes chilli chilli. The red vegetable in my rather watery pasta was no more than capsicum. With the very good garlic bread and my wifeâs pasta bake scoring well, mine was a substantial let down.I hope the management improve this dish as the establishment deserves it.

Tucked away in the old quarter of Penzance, The Cornish Barn is a rustic restaurant, bar and smokehouse in Penzance serving a wholesome menu with a focus on fresh Cornish produce â all helped along by craft beers and wines from local independent vineyards
We had drinks here one night, and came back the next night for dinner. We loved the warm, cosy decor, good choice of drinks and pretty good food. The only thing that wasnât great was the service; a lot of errors both times, the staff were friendly but lacked professionalism. They forgot to bring menus and to seat us in the restaurant until well after the reservation time, and every drinks order was messed up. All in all, however, we forgave the slapdash service because the ambiance and food made up for it. We would go again if we were in the area.Good evening honeyHenleyonThames,Thank you for your time writing this review.I am happy to hear that you loved the atmosphere of the Restaurant, and I will be sure to pass on your comments about the food on to the kitchen.I am sorry that the service was not to the standards that you wanted. Please feel free to contact the management team via phone or by emailing us at [email protected] to provide some extra information, so that we can work to insure that this does not happen again. We appreciate all feedback to help our eccentric charmed slice of Penzance grow.Kind RegardsRyanDuty manager

Rustic style bistro, in the heart of St.Ives, serving simple tasty dishes with good quality wines, all at a reasonable price.
Why did I give only âaverageâ when so many other reviews give âexcellentâ? Tricky one. Staff certainly really welcoming, friendly and professional. They deserve an âexcellentâ rating. The food was nice, but certainly wasnât excellent. It was a bit ordinary and the Hake Mornay was short on hake and uncomfortably salty. We ate in 4 other St Ives restaurants that week and 3 of them were considerably better and not that different in price.
