Things to do in Selby
No complaints at all about the cleanliness and the welcome from the staff, but things went downhill from there. I ordered a tea a latte and two bacon baps. I was given my till receipt at 10:44 am. There were a few people in the cafe but it was by no means full. At 11:00am after a 15 minute wait the drinks arrived, with an apology for the delay. We waited for our food to the aroma of burning toast. By 11:15am just over half an hour after we ordered, our drinks were finished and there was still no sign of the bacon baps. We had to leave to be somewhere else, so at 11:25 am my husband asked if we could have a refund for the food. It was explained to him that it was the eggs that were taking the time and weâd only ordered 10 minutes ago, eggs, what eggs ?. It became apparent at this point that our order had been lost and was never coming. Credit to the staff we were given a full refund for the food and drinks.Would I recommend, well no, not unless youâve all day to put aside waiting for your order. There didnât seem to be an organisation in the kitchen, OK there was only one lady cooking, and a man behind the counter, but there were not that many customers, something was clearly wrong with the way the orders were being taken and dealt with.
Ordered a ham sandwich and a coronation chicken sandwich with fries. Two drinks, just over a tenner. The brown bread was fresh and the coronation chicken filling was really nice. The ham sandwich was a ham sandwich, nothing to write home about, decent value for money.

So it's our first time visiting for my daughter's 11th birthday and we couldn't be made more welcome, warm greetings, excellent friendly service. Make sure you come with time on your hands, sit back, enjoy the music, atmosphere, the company you are in and the food! Expect to wait as the food is freshly prepared, cooked and brought to you, can't fault any of it, was absolutely delicious, my kids are planning the next visit. Nothing was any trouble which is great as my son is autistic and can be a little fussy. Looking forward to returning and supporting a new local business. Well done to all at Leo's!

We decided to treat ourselves on a Friday lunch to an afternoon tea. When we arrived we saw the cream tea and decided to treat ourselves. A lovely platter arrived, sandwiches, clotted cream scones and an assortment of cakes. We loved it but my wife was completely full and could not manage all of her portion of the cakes!Always enjoy visiting.

Traditional English cafe , serving all day breakfasts, lunches , fresh coffees, snacks , sandwiches ,paninis ,toasties , hot and cold sandwiches
The food was just adequate, no more. Better places and far less expensive. We had breakfast slime fried bread covered with beans, ready spread toast, cheap sausage. Asked for more tea got hot water poured on an already used tea bag.Not sure if other food is better and ups it's rating but we won't be returning

I have just seen my previous review. I thought it was longer but the last price rise was last year 2018. The price rise was ridiculous, nearly 10% but continued to visit.Due to recent VAT changes the cafe has increased all prices by 20%. This has added a further £1.86 to my regular order. So for my two sandwiches and two coffee's it has risen over £2.56 in a year to £11.16.Thank you for taking the time to write a review, all comments are appreciated to help us improve our customer service. I can confirm that the last price rise we had was indeed April 2018 and that was an overall increase of 2%. This year we have not had a price increase at all, however as we have now passed through the Government's VAT small business threshold we are compelled by law to register with HMRC and collect VAT on behalf of the government. I understand this increase is a burden to some of our customers and with this in mind I have not increased any of my food prices this year although wages, pensions etc have increased.
