Well I liked it here but I’m fearful of making this place too popular. Well suited for dog walking and very dog friendly. Millie rates it too. Plenty of parking. Buy fresh milk and other goodies. Draft beer, good coffee. Food still to be tried but I have a high level of expectation.

Just found this lovely little market square café just off the square. It was clean, bright with very easy seating. The staff was very friendly even though we had not been in before and very efficient. The early bird breakfast and a mug of tea was excellent with good portions, well cooked and presented and very good value for money. Would recommend to anyone visiting Blandford.

The Georgian Tea Rooms

A friendly popular tearoom offering a wide range of refreshments from a hearty cooked breakfast, full lunch menu and afternoon snacks and homemade cakes. We also serve some Gluten and dairy free choices. Our specials board is updated daily.

Why do tea rooms mostly close at tea-time (around 4.30)? And why do they make it so obvious that you are the last customers of the day and they are closing up around you? This place was one of those, and was depressing therefore, and perfunctory. On the plus side, they were dog-friendly. The teacakes arrived with 2 rock-hard pre-wrapped pats of butter. Teacakes are nothing if they are not buttered immediately, allowing all the wonderful butteriness to sink in. So, perfunctory - it avoided a "poor" because of the dog-friendlinessThank you for your review although not very complimentary.Let us address your issues. We can't comment on other tea rooms but our hours are officially 9am until 4pm. However if we are at the tea room we are open.In the morning when we are preparing for the day or in the afternoon when we may be cleaning down.If you have ever worked in this line of business you would understand that everyone has a different preference to how they have things done and because of this we will never please everyone. Our kitchen is small and gets very hot if the butter is left out the butter becomes liquid in the pack which is not good.It would have been nice if we could have been given the chance to have rectified the butter issue for you but if you don't say we can't.Our tea room is run by just the two of us, a husband and wife team. We work long hours but we always have time for our customers and it's especially nice when they engage with us.Yes we are also dog friendly which we are happy to be. Though this can have its draw backs as we can lose custom if people don't want to eat where there are dogs. Again an example that you won't please everyone.Kind regardsWayne and GerryThe Georgian tea room

We make and bake as much as is humanly possible here in our open kitchen. Locally roasted coffees and locally blended teas. We are a little bit different without being too 'off the wall'! Come and try us. Steve.

We went there following recommendations from trip advisor and enjoyed it.Good quality produce but disappointed much of the menu unavailable. No license but excellent coffee. Thank you, that's really kind of you!We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit and that you found us via trip advisor. Apologies if we had sold out of many of our dishes. The fact we had, leads me to assume you visited later in the day when it's true we do sell out of dishes. We believe in making small daily batches to ensure our food is as fresh as possible and on busy days we do tend to run out as lunch goes on, particularly the brunch menu which is available from first thing in the morning.Thank you again for taking the time to post such a lovely review and we hope to see you again soon.
