Really just stumbled across this place. Was just looking for a sandwich and saw the menu and went in. Seating is cramped as its very busy but shared a table and it was no bother at all. Ordered 3 different dishes, nicholson crispy bacon sandwich/rice bowl with pork/nicholson steak bowl. Each dish was brilliant, tasty and tangy and filling. Free fruit water was available. Really impressed and will deffo go back.

A Saturday morning bike ride with a mid point break at the surf café. Perfect. Without a plan of where to stop for a break during our ride out, we saw the surf café and decided it would be ideal. We planned on getting a drink and a cake but as we were ordering a guy in the kitchen brought out some freshly baked cheese scones. I'm not normally the biggest fan but these did looked really good and as they were warm out of the oven I couldn't resist. I'm so glad I did as it was the best cheese scone I've ever had. You could see the melted cheese stretching as I cut it open and pulled it apart. The coffee and the cakes were spot on too. It has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and is the perfect place to chill. Top marks all round.

We called into this cafe specifically because it was set up to help people with Autism and learning difficulties. It was spotlessly clean and the staff just could not have been more helpful or friendly. The quiche of the day was fresh out of the oven and served with coleslaw and a very interesting side salad, great value at £3.95 and totally delicious. Our granddaughter had a pizza which was huge and it cost £5.95.aIt had a sourdough base and organic chicken and cheese and tomato on the top .We took half of it home in a box .We could not resist the vegan carrot cake at £3 a slice and it was totally wonderful. We are looking forward to visiting again the next time we are in South ShieldsThanks so much for your kind words Grace. Lovely to meet you all. Call back again.Sarah

Booked the afternoon tea for a family meet-up but Was left feeling underwhelmed by it. Although It was nice thatâs all it was-nice and not the occasion weâd hoped for. We were asked brown or white bread for our sandwiches, all of us asked for brown, yet we all got white seeded buns, and the scones came with jam and cream but no butter? When I went to pay I mentioned that two of us would be back in for supper the next evening, then I was asked âare you sureâ explained itâ had been booked a few month previous as our original booking for May was cancelled at the last minute by one of their staff because theyâd forgot they had a wedding party in . Then I was told we couldnât be booked in because it was a Monday and they only Open from Wednesday onwards. Considering we had travelled for nearly 3hrs to make the afternoon tea booking and were slotting in the next days evening meal during a stopover, we left feeling dismayed. Sadly will not returnHI Thank you for your feedback. I am disappointed that you were underwhelmed by your experience. I take great pride in our food and more importantly looking after our customers. With regard to your afternoon tea, I (Joanne) the owner was the one who prepared that for you. The buns we use, we have used from day one, and our brown buns are seeded and the white ones plain. The brown buns are not dark in colour like a wholemeal, they are very light. I would have been more than happy to change them to brown bread, if you weren't happy. We have never provided butter with our Scones, with clotted cream and Jam. However, this could have easily been rectified, if you had of wanted butter we would have provided.Regarding the booking, there has obviously been a break down in communication somewhere. Since the café opened in 2017 we have never been open on a Monday evening. I am sorry that you felt you had been messed about. Kind regardsJoanne

We were staying at the Premier Inn but decided not to take the breakfast offered there at £9.50 instead tried here after reading reviews. So glad we did. Massive Full Monty breakfast with large coffee for less than it would have cost at hotel. Friendly staff and fab food. Weâll be back on Monday just a pity theyâre closed on a Sunday. Highly recommend.

Went today for afternoon tea with family and have to say, it was really nice, sandwiches scones 3 choices, cheese fruit or cherry and coconut, small cakes and trifle, as much tea or coffee as you wanted, the girls were so friendly and brought out a small cake with candle on as it was 1 of the ladies birthday. I would definitely go back.
