Visited restaurant twice recently. Sunday lunch was superb. Proper home cooked food - very good atmosphere and reasonably priced. Also visited during the week. The Golden Fleece had a big refurbishment a couple of years ago. Very large pub, with a separate function area. That is used for parties and funeral wakes. Has a large beer garden, with swings and slide for children. Seating at front for smokers.Great selection of

My friend and myself came to the Red House for Sunday lunch for a birthday meal for me. We said we wanted a table for two, the server went away and said âI jus5 need to clear a table I wonât be a minute â She then came back and sat us, another server came over took our drinks order, and they came up quite quickly, slightly wrong but nothing we couldnât sort out.when the server came over to take our order we both ordered Sunday roast one chicken one lamb. For this we waited and waited after about 30 minutes the food came, we asked where the gravy was? She said thereâs some on your plates but Iâll get some more. Well the âgravyâ if you can call it that was watery, fatty brown coloured liquid. The chicken was adequate, my lamb was cut into pieces some of which were like rubber and a few ok. Potatoes were definitely from frozen and tasted so, dry and really not nice, peas and beans were ok. Parsnip completely inedible not even cooked properly. During the meal the server came and asked if we wanted more veg? We said â why would we want more when the first lot are almost inedible and awfulâ she mumbled something like âoh ok would you like anything else insteadâ we said no thanks. We stupidly decided to have desert as we were still hungry as we didnât eat much of our mains. That too was awful profiteroles that tasted of nothing, chocolate sauce out of a squeeze thing you get from supermarkets, and that stuff heated is awful I had a bomb surprise so youâre supposed to pour the heated chocolate sauce over a dark chocolate shell, which should melt, but didnât to reveal ice cream and chocolate brownie pieces, of which I found two tiny bits, the ice cream was ok.Luckily we were only paying 2 for 1 on our meal but even so itâs not worth £32.Recently my husband and I went to a beefeater in Rotherham everything there was absolutely fantastic, food @mazing service great atmosphere really good.At the red house they were turning people away, I assume because they didnât have enough staff, as the restaurant certainly wasnât full not even half full and all you could hear were people complaining about the food about the waiting time, and the staff were quite curt the way they were they were talking to people. I have written a complaint to beefeater as nothing was done in the restaurant as the staff didnât seem to care!! but so far no reply I donât like leaving bad reviews but i say as I find and last Sunday the Red House must of been having a very bad day!! Thereâs a sign outside saying best roast in the area, thereâs a Toby carvery down the road, I wish we had actually gone there.

I knew I would be at O'Neills in Ilford, a sit's my friends favourite eatery when he's at work so checked their online menus. According to that they offer 6 different vegan meals so I expected to be ok whilst he had his favourite choice, macaroni & cheese. The vegan options on their website shows the following; 1. no-chick cauliflower bites2. vegan Romana Pizza 3. vegan Maghertita pizza4. vegan veggie melt panini5. butternut squash & quinoa jerk curry 6. chocolate orange torte This is all viewable at the O'Neills website 12.30 on a Tuesday none of the above was available, nor was what my guest wanted macaroni cheese a non vegan version so he had to have scampi and chips instead .I was scrambling about for anything, even the garlic bread wasn't vegan so I have a chocolate dessert with raspberry centre which I hope was vegan, though they should have just popped to Iceland for the No Bull melt in middle chocolate sponges which are much nicer. To say it was a disappointment was an understatement especially as my previous O'Neills review was so favourable, but to have nothing to offer a vegan, when you're a pub that serves food is just not good enough. The scampi meal, my dessert and Old Mout cider came to £10.73 this price was 40% off as I had a voucher, plus I got my friends Perroni beer for free with a second voucher. The manager and chef were nice enough, though he admitted not updating the website which is basic in any business even franchises. The lack of food both vegan and non-vegan was unacceptable and in this day and age and shouldn't happen.I can't recommend it however convenient and nice it is to sit outside it is.They may be better off not serving food at all and just offering crisps and snacks as to show online options that you don't carry is misleading and annoying.Hi Natasha_j_soliar, we regret to hear that you are displeased with your recent experience with us. Our manager would really like to speak with you more regarding this matter. Please reach out to us at 020 8514 6343. We look forward to hearing from you.

A nice little locals pub, within walking distance of Faces and Gants Hill tube station. A large family friendly menu with 2 outdoor areas and a ;arge car park. A new cocktail menu has just been introduced including 4 shots for £5 and 4 Jager bombs for £10
Andy and Vicky have been really accommodating hosts, I recommend them to be yours. The pub was very friendly and the really tried there upmost to make me feel comfortable and welcome at the front of house. Andy and vicky were both very chatty and humbling. I enjoyed my experience at kg5 and would defiantly go back and recommend friends to go also.

What a lovely evening we had in the Chequers on New Years Eve, £11 a ticket with a really tasty buffet. Live music - sing-a-long - which was great fun. The atmosphere was great everyone mixed well together. The bar staff were rushed off their feet but were so efficient, smiled and were polite throughout. We will be back next year

Have visited this restaurant a few times however I was not impressed with service or food.i had my granddaughter's with me we had to wait 20minutes to be shown a table. We had already purchased drinks at the bar so ordered our meals, the girls had children's menu and myself and daughter ordered from main menu. The children's food arrived five minutes before ours was served. The food was awful overcooked dry chicken coleslaw wasn't pleasant,my daughter's meal also not particularly pleasant.I don't know if it has changed hands but not as nice experience as in other visits.I do appreciate it was a Sunday but level of service needs attention.Dont think I would recommend this place to my friends and family. Its not value for money.Hi Wendy, thank you for your review. We apologise for your experience with us, we strive for the best service and so we will look into improving it based on your comments. - Miller and Carter, Newbury Park
