A really great little curry house in the heart of King's Worthy... I've visited here 3 times in recent weeks and sampled various dishes (Madras, Balti, Korai and Chicken tikka) as well as a few sides and couldn't fault the quality or service, all of which are flawless. I really enjoy The Light of Bengal in Winchester but this is certainly on a par. Plus, the skinny fries are a tasty treat as well if you're feeling naughty. Superb.

I have been eating regularly at the Light of Bengal Restaurant over the last 6 months. The quality of the food is fabulous - traditional indian food served by staff who are extremely friendly and courteous, especially Ronnie and Khullam. I have dietary restrictions and the staff have always been very helpful in pointing me in the right direction regarding the menu and catering for my needs. Nothing is ever too difficult. I would definitely recommend you visit this restaurant if you fancy having a great night out and having traditional indian food.

Traditional authentic Nepalese/Indian food. Take away and delivery available. Parking available. Restaurant available for hire for private parties.
Hard to find but plenty of parking once we arrived.Nice atmosphere, good decor, needs a new floor and bench seating deep cleaning but tables, cutlery, plates etc all clean. Tasty king prawn purée, excellent keema rice (best I have eaten in a long time). Lovely chicken momo. Fresh salad, and plenty of it. Chicken tikka was excellent, succulent, perfectly cooked with onions too. Raita was rather a let down, a bowl of creme fraiche with a heap of chopped up cucumber thrown on top. Garlic chilli chicken was too tangy, tasted of vinegar, needed sweetening. Service was excellent, very friendly helpful staff. This place is changing in a week, becoming Taste of Gurkha. We're looking forward to returning and trying the new menu.

I came with friends who had recommended this restaurant and we all enjoyed our various meals. I understand it has recently relocated from Winchester city, however it is only a few miles out of the city and easy to get to and park. First impressions are good with warm welcome and pleasant atmosphere. The menu is extensive and although not the cheapest is, importantly, tasty, well presented with ample amount of food. With friendly and attentive service without being intrusive it represents good value. I will return.

First time in a Gurkha Restaurant had the fixed menu £15.99, two courses. service was good with an attentive waiter. The Sauces with the Poppadom were lush so order an extra one. Got to be traditional goat curry. I had the Shish starter which was hotter than I expected. The fixed menu Mon-Wed comes with wine or a glass of beer. Well worth a visit.
