The Swan is a contemporary gastropub set in one of Farnborough's most charming buildings.
Only fancied nachos because I had eaten earlier but these were disappointing. Guacamole and sour cream but too little cheese so I ended up with a plate full of plain tortilla chips.

Fab village pub with a lot to offer in atmosphere and really good food. Never had a disappointing meal there. Bar staff friendly. Uses the village green outside for entertainment and just watching the world go by.

Rural family run pub with good food, great beer, excellent wines and friendly staff. We offer a beer garden, function room and love DOGS!
Stopped here during a nice walk along the Basingstoke canal. Sat in the beer garden with drinks and food. I had whitebait and we shared a nachos with chilli. Food was very good and exactly what we needed to fill a hole.

A stylish traditional pub serving great pub classics, steaks & salads. Extensive range of excellent beers, wines & spirits. Open log fire and dog friendly
Impromptu vusit with my Sister for an early dinner. What a massive difference from my last visit. They were so pretentious after thier refurbishment but now they're a family friendly, down to earth, friendly pub with excellent Customer Service. :-). The decor and atmosphere is nice although not too keen on them allowing children to run around like it's a playground! But then that's down to parents really. :-( We had Beef Bourguinon which was yummers. I'll be visiting again.I'm so pleased you enjoyed your visit Maggi and thank you for taking the time to write about it. You are quite right the pub is positioned as a community family friendly and relaxed local. I do hope to see you again soon :)

We are at The Wyvern watching the England Vs Argentina game. The atmosphere is electric, lots of fans in attendance. Bobby, Charlotte and their team are first class. Teas, coffees (and Guinness!) all readily available. We all just had a first class fry up at half time. I highly recommend you get yourselves here for the England Vs France match next Saturday.Hi Stuart, Glad to hear you have been enjoying the Japan Rugby World Cup with us. Thanks for taking the time to review us. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Regards Bobby

The Queens Head has to be my favoured local restaurant, being about 100 metres from my front door. However, about 3 years ago, I had 3-4 consecutive bad experiences (cold food [not salad], wrong dishes delivered and lousy service). I stopped visiting and moved my preference down the road.About three months my circumstances changed meaning that I would eat out every evening. I chose to return to the Queens Head and do not regret the decision one tiny little bit. The new landlord and his staff are a different breed. They are very keen to please and work extremely hard at busy times. The food and selection has also improved immensely. For example Mussels and Scallops are now regularly available and very well cooked/prepared.So all in all I am able to thoroughly recommend this quaint Pub.
