Storm restaurant is European design classics. The Storm Team are dedicated to fine local produce & our Head Chef Victoria Vassello has Michelin background & superb reputation.
We have an overnight stay and ate in the Restaurant. The food was delicious, hot and well presented with some nice touches. A good range of desserts which also amazing. The staff were very professional and could not do enough for us. Compliments to them all, especially the Chef!

The hotel is situated on the outskirts of historic Knaresborough about 4 miles from Harrogate. Well located as a touring base. Room was fine, after it had been properly cleaned after the previous occupants. Restaurant was average, not much character but the food was surprisingly good. Breakfast was good too. Service was attentive. All good so far. So, would we stay there again? Probably not. What put us off staying there again was the management's policy to charge residents parking when day visitors to the Spa were given free parking. It's a silly thing but that kind of discrimination - apparently the charge is to deter casual parking - can backfire. I'm sure the management haven't introduced this parking charge for residents in order to discourage prospective residents but in our case they have roundly succeeded. Sorry, Dower House, we liked your hotel but please, please sort out your parking policy.

Have been coming to the general tarlton for many years and it has been a bit hit and miss! Over the past 6 months i have been about 6 times and every time was amazing. Tender meats tasty vegetables and amazing sauces. I would fully recommend this restaurant and travel around 50miles for dinner here.

We visited this afternoon for what we hoped would be a lovely Sunday Lunch but we were underwhelmed. We have been many times in the past with friends for a meal and have always had a great time but the restaurant was really noisy- not their fault but the music was too loud and the service was poor, perhaps too many tables and not enough staff.I had the Devilled kidneys with mushrooms and they were awful, my hubby had pate which was nice. My nearly full plate taken away without question and yes it can be down to personal taste but I have never had them like that before. Looking at the dish, it looked awful and I was amazed that the chef would be happy with it. I had asked for boiled potatoes as I donât like roast and they were cold luckily she had to bring another main so I was able to tell her but she apologised and quickly took it away before bringing it back having microwaved it.The best bit was the sirloin and the Yorkshire puddings, the gravy tasted like it was from the Devilled kidneys but a little thinner. No offer to top up the drinks and as it was raining my husband went to collect the car while I waited to catch someoneâs attention, I went to the bar and back before spotting one of the people serving and then was asked if I would walk into town to get cash as the machine was broken!!! All in all a waste of money and a precious Family Sunday.Thank you for providing feedback of your recent visit. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the roast sirloin and Yorkshire pudding but sorry the devilled lambs kidneys were not to your liking, usually this dish is well received. It was very unfortunate that the card machine stopped working later in the afternoon during a very busy service and no doubt this exasperated the other issues you have mentioned. I am very sorry your experience was not as good as you have experienced in the past and we will use your feedback to improve our service. Please feel free to get in touch directly - I sent a direct message with my telephone number.

Popped in for lunch on bank holiday Sunday. Just wanted a lighter meal as had to walk back to Harrogate. Not a big menu and no alternatives to Sunday lunch. No bother at all when I asked if I could just have a childrenâs Sunday lunch. Really sheltered and sunny beer garden so ate outside on a variable weather day. Lovely and relaxing. Meat cut thin just how I like it. Hubbyâs beef was pink and my pork was moist. Nice selection of vegetables and roasties and Yorkshire puddings good. Gravy a bit thin but tasty. I tried the rhubarb and custard lager after trying a sample. Really did get the sourness of the rhubarb then a slight sweetness from the custard lol. Toilets super clean and the ladies had various toiletries which is a nice touch. Staff couldnât been better.

Booked for Sunday lunch and surprised to find it relatively quiet - not a complaint, it is just every time we come it is heaving. Food as usual superb, staff delightful. Had dropped off balloons and cake night before, they kindly put balloons on table and brought out cake after mains.
