This isn't a cafe in the conventional sense. What were once the public toilets serving Claremont Gardens (and, for a while in the 1980s, one of the most disreputable spots in the Royal borough) is now the Clocktower Cafe; with the Surbiton clocktower itself dominating outside. The problem with this Lebanese experience is not the food (very good) or the cafe, but the opening hours. It seems to be closed more than it's open.I arranged to meet someone there at 10am last week.I arrived slightly early, at 9.45am. No sign of life. A faded notice on the door seemed to be relaying something about opening hours, but it had bleached in the sunshine and was unreadable.I left a message on my friend's phone and went to the next nearest cafe.Imagine my surprise when I got a text at 10.05am saying she was sitting in the Clocktower Cafe and what drink did I want to order.A cafe should surely be open by 10am. Maybe there's too much commuter competition for that first caffeine shot of the day. A nice spot, but unreliable. Seems to close on Fridays, completely.

Staying with some friends who took us here for lunch; seriously impressed by this excellent delicatessen. This was by far the most authentic Portuguese food I've had in the UK and reasonably priced as well, with very friendly service. Excellent pastel de nata, empadinhas, and coffee. I made home with loads of charcuterie for some Med-inspited cooking. A great local deli.

First visit here. Strange as it was totally empty at 8pm on a Wednesday. Service was excellent as it was empty, but also good as well. I think the staff member was also doing the cooking. We enjoyed the Garlic bread starter and pizzas to follow. Support your local restaurants before they disappear.

Usually always good esp if Kadir the owner around (not today) service slow today (ordered with young male but female sorted order as 10 mins for a coffee!) gets noisier each time visit so difficult to have a conversation shames as used to be better, could go & read paper but gets so loud nice new tables/chairs to sit outside if warm enough staff good/friendly but have difficulty grasping what you want to order sometimes which is frustrating

I have been to the French tarte many times and been very pleased. The last time service was slow but okay. This week we popped in on Saturday and I was appalled by the disgusting Greek salad I was served. The cucumber and tomatoes not properly diced were swimming in a yellow sauce with very small bits of feta cheese. I did not eat it. Tables were not cleared and it was not busy but service was very slow. It will be sometime before I return.

We opened Pickled Pantry in Surbiton on 25th June 2012. It had been a dream of ours to create a ´Home From Home´ cafe & deli using fresh and locally sourced produce from local companies. We have created a comfortable environment where we hope you can feel
I visited Pickled Pantry yesterday for breakfast whilst I was waiting for some repairs to be done on my car. I donât know what they do to their scrambled eggs to make them so delicious but Iâve never had eggs like them before. The staff, as always, couldnât do enough for me, theyâre wonderfully friendly, polite, courteous, and professional. This place is local to me and I hope to be a regular customer for many more years to come.

Wags N Tales in Surbiton is an independant coffee shop by day and a full service late license cocktail bar at night. We offer a selection of speciality coffee, loose leaf teas, organic hot chocolates and fresh blended nutritious smoothies to go with our d
I first came to Wags when it first opened and left it a 5* review then but itâs just gone from good to better. The food is fabulous - such a yummy range of veggie and vegan. The vibe is always buzzing - itâs pet friendly, baby friendly, sports friendly - basically successfully covers all bases from brunch until night time. Usually come on weekends but my Wednesdays would not be complete without my standard hot/cold chocolate made by the lovely Edward & Dario. Wags definitely deserves the multiple awards it has won!
