Visited here while staying in Paignton for a week. The name suggests a diner serving burgers but it is actually a lovely little upstairs restaurant majoring on fish, overlooking the sea. Because we were near the front of the restaurant (but not on the balcony bit, which might be a bit chilly later on) we could see Torquay across the water gradually lighting up, which was very pretty.I treated myself to scallops followed by the lobster. The 3 large scallops were very nice and cooked just right. The lobster felt a little small for the price (I appreciate it is a very expensive fish) but was nicely cooked and has been well prepared - no need for all of the âequipmentâ required to dismantle and eat a lobster that has only been cooked. My wife enjoyed her vegetarian starter and main. We did not have dessert. Our bottle of white wine could have done with being a bit colder. It was understandably busy, as it deserved to be. Friendly and efficient staff. Sensible prices given the premium location.Recommended.

Firstly why do people have to be so rude in their reviews, (see previous review). This is a great place and we had a very enjoyable meal everything was just right, the staff very attentive. I recommend the £35 per head menu which means if you are a party of 4 you get to try everything if you are happy sharing. Tiramisu was delicious with just the correct amount of alcohol, not over powering as previous reviewers seem to want. Yes its a short menu, check on line to get an idea, but everything was fresh and tasty. Highly recommend.

Good food from good farming, brought to you in a Mediterranean small plate style. Accompanied by a choice of over 250 wines to have in for a small corkage fee or to takeaway.
We've been here for food and drink a few times and the wine selection is fairly good. The issue seems to be management/kitchen as you never know when they will be serving food with the kitchen sometimes simply being closed early on days and often running out of stock which has been hugely frustrating on occasion. It just seems a pity that management haven't been able to sort this out but hopefully better soon. With such a barren Totnes food scene at the moment a good competitor would do well but Ben's isn't there yet.

I visited this bustling bistro with my daughter and grandson. We enjoyed delicious crab mayo sandwiches which were served with crispy chips. The bread was fresh and the generous salad filling was a perfect accompaniment to the crab. We will definitely return to try out the interesting à la carte menu!

I discovered this restaurant/deli by chance while staying a couple of nights in Totnes. The food was delicious - clearly lovingly prepared by hand: a baby octopus salad and then filled home-made pasta. Everything melted in the mouth.
