Up from London for a special meal with my daughter and her boyfriend (plus his parents) to celebrate their return from Berlin. We had a table by the window (as I had requested) with wonderful views of the city and were blessed with excellent weather on the Saturday lunchtime. We had a warm welcome and service was unobtrusive and efficient. We all opted for the two course meal at £18 which was excellent value given high quality of the food. Choices were good, catering for both meat eaters and vegetarians. The puds were the star turn for me - sticky toffee pudding and dark chocolate mousse with raspberries, beautifully presented. Bit of an agony deciding. Six easily holds its own against restaurants I occasionally visit in London under Open Table offers (these dearer of course). The ladies' loo was a real surprise -a loo with a view. A great finale to our meal. I would come up for the Christmas lunch if it wasn't so far to come.....Six and the Baltic do Newcastle proud.

At The Alchemist we're masters in the dark arts of molecular mixology and demons in the kitchen. Our mixologists create every cocktail with an obsessive eye for detail, presented in vessels orchestrated to add a devilish dash of theatre, they bedazzle, be
We came here hoping to get an exceptional meal. Though the restaurant looks good, the food was just mediocre. It was nearly empty on a Tuesday after 6pm. We are quickly seated. I ordered the mango shake. This was ok.For a starter, I had the Halloumi sticks. These were nice. The dip was lovely too. My companion had the calamari which he also enjoyed. It was the main meal that was a bit if an anti climax. My colleague had the highly 'recomended' chicken in a basket. Well, this was just similar to ordinany chicken nuggets. The chicken was dry and bland. I had the crispy pork belly. Now I like my pork belly with fat in it because this is what makes it crispy and juicy. This pork belly had been stripped of fat leaving it with just dry fatless meat. Presentation was fab, however, if I had not ordered the fries, I would have been starving as there wasn't much. The fries were just like McDonald's fries. We did not order deserts as we were not sure after the underwhelming experience of the main meal.It is a shame because I had been looking forward to coming here. I do think their dishes need to be improved otherwise they will just disappear into the mould of 'just another' restaurant.Hi Stha77,Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Could I ask you to drop me an email at [email protected] to discuss this further with you please?Kind regards,Peter

Fast service and buzzing place, staff look after you and the Sunday lunch does exactly what it says on the box - perhaps could have been a bit more generous with the chicken! Otherwise well presented well run and tasty.Wheelchair friendly which must have cost them some space so grateful for that.

A turkish proverb says that life comes through food. Which is why we are bringing our heart and soul into Saray Turkish Grill, our new Turkish restaurant located in Jesmond, Newcastle. Feel free to have a look at our menu and book a table for an unforgett
Just moved in a stone's throw from here and I've been twice in a week. Great food, excellent service and some interesting Turkish wines - rarely seen.I've tried both the a la carte and the early evening special menus. Both great. On night one, my red wine was corked, the waiters were very understanding and changed the bottle, agreeing the two smelled very differently. I'll be back often, it's my new local

Thankyou Bonbar for a delicious afternoon tea and for making a special occasion even more special. We visited here last Saturday to celebrate our sisters "big" birthday and were not disappointed. The staff were brilliant, friendly and attentive without being overpowering. The afternoon tea was perfectly presented with plenty of choice and the gluten free tea requested was also pronounced delicious ( which is not always the case in most places we have been) so thankyou for that. The prosecco went down a treat too and the teapots were readily refilled on request. This was a perfect afternoon with a lovely atmosphere and I would have no hesitation in saying it was the best afternoon tea we have had, and we have had a few!! Thankyou Bonbar and staff it was fab!

I booked afternoon tea as a treat for Mothers day but on paying was charged extra for the 'tea'. Food was nice apart from the scones which were quite dry. Atmosphere here is nice, very peaceful and relaxing. We apologise for this unreservedly. This seems to have been a mistake on the part of one of our members of staff. We are contacting you to arrange a refund of the amount concerned. Thanks for the feedback on the scones. We've noted this and have taken steps to make sure they're better in future.
