Stayed there two nights, the 18 and 19 June. Staff couldn't have been more obliging. A friendly relaxed atmosphere with good service and comfortable accommodation. The breakfast was excellent with the proprietor Dominic's home made Seville orange marmalade a must.Sitting out in the quirky garden among the chickens was lovely, with the pet pigs grunting quietly in the background.

Stopped for lunch today in the garden, shame about the pesky wasps. The mushroom and pesto open sandwich on sour dough was lovely. A reasonable menu, was looking to seeing some of the dishes shown on facebook but couldnt see any on the menu

Beautiful 16th century pub with 4 en suite B&B rooms, local beers, private dinning area and a newly refurbished restaurant. A perfect place to have food and cosy up by our original fire place Open everyday. Food times 12-3, 6-9 Tuesday to Saturday & 12-6
The fish and chips here are spot on, light crispy batter, large piece of fish, chunky chips with minted pea puree (not mushy peas) and good quality tartar sauce. The service is always charming and the surroundings a mix of the new and old, spacious restaurant area at the back overlooks the cricket ground and some tables on the rear patio, even more tables outside at the front. There are some specials on a chalk board which are quite expensive, we haven't sampled the sandwich menu yet. There's a private dining room at the side which would suit a small family or other gathering.

Thank you once again Peter (Maitre'D) and Kat (Dedicated member of staff) for a superb Birthday Evening for my wife. From the moment we arrived the service and attention shown was excellent and while the restaurant was very busy we were given all the time we required to decide on the meal we would like..The menu was very broad and extremely interesting and I feel confident that it could satisfy requirements and pallets of all diners. The different courses were excellently presented and ample time was also given between courses. Many thanks and please pass our congratulations to the chef for the presentation and warmth of his dishes.Dear David L SThank you so much for your wonderful review and all the kind comments. The whole team is absolutely thrilled with your feedback and we are all extremely happy that we have provided you with such positive experience. We have recently updated our menu with few new dishes so hopefully, we will see you again soon so you can try the new additions to our broad range of food offerings. We are all looking forward to seeing you very shortly.Kindest RegardsPeter and The Team @ The Crow and Gate Inn

Welcome To The Blue Anchor in Crowborough Serving Food Monday to Saturday 12-3pm & 6-9pm Sundayâs 12-4pm A Warm Welcome Awaits From Amy and Her Team
When last in England, and driving to London through Crowborough, we passed on our left a modest building modestly proclaiming itself to be a Country Pub with Dining. Turning round and going in, we soon realized our mistake in passing it . The modesty of its self proclaimed status belies the remarkable achievement of its owners and staff - this is a great welcoming genuine unpretentious pub with all the character of a country inn, with great dining in a large separate area with lovely decor. The food is as good as you will find anywhere , with a wide ranging menu and ample portions ( unlike so many other places ). Squid, terrine, risotto , dressed crab , salted caramel torte and ice cream we had were fantastic. The service is excellent - charming , welcoming, attentive without being intrusive and professional to a level far beyond the youth of the staff. People and their children are happy here . Outside there is a large area with tables and a large car park. A great deal of thought has obviously gone into creating such a great welcoming place.
