Small round tables with 2 chairs makes larger groups tricky at this small establishment. Tables outside for warm days (which this was) usefulBreakfasts were reasonable and very good VFM £5Menu showing a variety of breakfast pancakes Le personnel du restaurant était très sympathiqueWill revisit
Driven past Howbery Park on many occasions but never ventured in. Heard there was an on-site cafe and decided to try this out.I like discovering new places that I can from work from (access to power and WiFi a must) that are not too far from home.Mentioned to the member of staff it was my first first and had such a warm welcome from her!Was a beautiful day so sat outside - beautiful gardens!! WiFi worked out on the terrace (no power than I could see and not easy to fine power sockets inside either). There is also a restaurant attached too, but I didn't visit on this occasion.Staff from surrounding companies on the park came over during lunchtime - such an amazing atmosphere - groups playing football and the table tennis table got lots of use too.Impressive first visit.I WILL be back!

Popped in around 1pm to have a couple of sandwiches for lunch. Perused the extensive board with sandwich options, picked two we liked and headed to the counter to order. Girl behind the counter couldnât have looked less interested in serving if she tried. Ordered one sandwich to be told they didnât have that meat and she turned her back. Do you have X meat I asked. No she said, half turning and then turning her back again (not to do anything interesting on the other counter it should be said, there looked to be a phone there). Do you have anything in stock I asked? No answer, so we left. Appalling customer service, near empty cabinets, I would highly recommend you avoid.Good afternoon shire 18, I am so sorry to read you had a bad experience, we don't normally have everything on the menu due to be subject to availability, we do have lots to choose from, can you please confirm which day you came in, please accept my apologies as I was not aware about it . That is not very good behaviour or customer service

45 minutes after ordering a baked potato, it still hadn't arrived. Staff said the order chit wasn't in the kitchen like it was my fault. I asked for a refund. My friend's order of soup took 40 minutes and was only produced after questioning it. We ordered both items before the lunchtime rush. Food was also pricey for what it was. A peppermint tea i.e. teabag and hot water was £2.50. There were 6 of us at the cafe for a business meeting. We won't be using Root One again. We are very sorry that you didnât have a good experience with us on this occasion, and obviously this was in no way your fault, we apologise if that was how you were made to feel.It appears that on this occasion there were some issues with the process of taking orders into the kitchen and we will be looking into this with a view to identifying and providing extra training where required. We aim to provide great customer service experience and quality dining in our café at all times and take all comments, both constructive and critical on board and address them, making changes when needed.Thank you again for taking the time to give us your review.

A welcoming, dog-friendly cafe in a beautiful listed barn serving simple, local and fresh brunches, lunches and great coffee.
Visited for brunch today with friends & all our children. Food was delicious (veggie brunch) & reasonably priced, coffee was good & best of all there is a play area for the children! There arenât many places you can go & enjoy food with toddlers but this place is so relaxing & there is everything you need for the children. Will definitely have brunch there again, it was so nice!! Hi there, Thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind words. We are happy that your experience with us was such a positive one for you and for the kids. Here at the Cartshed we try to cater for all ages (including our four legged friends), so I am very chuffed to hear that we have met that criteria! Look forward to welcoming you all back very soon!
