The pizzas, freshly made and from the wood fired oven, are amazing. The different toppings that are brought out to try are delicious and break up the ordinary ordering of one whole pizza. Keep eating until you are full and if only I had more room, I would still be lodged there now.Top service and the concept just works.

Having eaten at Zizzi elsewhere I thought this was a safe bet for dinner, how wrong I was! On arrival the were shown to our table, at first I was grateful to go upstairs as it avoided most of the small children, not that they were misbehaved or anything, just that I thought it would be more peaceful. Second mistake of the evening as it was more noisy upstairs - perhaps it is due to poor design of the area but it seemed very loud given the relatively few people there. Having sat down and swapped seats thinking there was a air-con unit blowing we asked for this to be turned down which they did - however this had no effect, some time later we were told by a different waitress that its because there is something wrong with the window above us and you always get a cold draft there - maybe an idea to fix it then???Onto the food ... we had pizzas; the "original" was stodgy and a bit bland but not terrible (to be honest for £14 i'd expect a very nice pizza not just for it to not be terrible) second rustica one was nicer base to be sure but was almost entirely free of toppings to the point that we asked for more to be added (which we had to ask for them to remove the charge for as I thought a complete liberty to serve in the first place never mind pay extra to try to resolve). The Calzone in fairness was ok but I seem to remember being nicer in other branches. We were hungry and in a rush so we ate and left - had we had more time to go somewhere else we would have just paid for our drinks and walked out! Needless to say I would not recommend the restaurant at all!

This is without doubt one of my favourite restaurants in Chelmsford. The range and quality of the food is excellent with very attentive staff. Whether you are looking for a lunchtime snack or a main meal, this is the place to go. OK, some might find it a bit noisy but trust me, once you start eating your meal your delight will make this fade away.

Wildwood is a small collection of restaurants that serves freshly prepared food. Our aim is simple: to serve great food delivered by friendly staff in a relaxed, homely environment. Whether you choose from the grill section, stone-baked pizza or our fresh
We came here for lunch and was very disappointed, we ordered Spag Bol from the kids menu which was barley warm, a pepperoni pizza which was fine and then two salads, one was a grilled chicken Caesar salad which was returned as the chicken wasnât cooked, it was still pink and the other salad was grilled chicken with beetroot. The Caesar salad was terrible, Iâm not even sure how the chef would allow that to be served. Weâve been to a few different WildWoods in the past, the one in Epping is really good and the one in Newmarket too but this one in Chelmsford is a long way behind them. I will definitely not be eating here again.
