England, United Kingdom Food Guide: 5 Indian food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Bath

February 8, 2020 Merry Kessler

Reviews on Indian food in Bath, England, United Kingdom. Known for its restorative wonders, Bath was once the home of Jane Austen. Sure, you could attempt to conjure up this elegant city by reading Pride and Prejudice in your tub, but as Bath has a lot more history than your bathroom (we assume, anyway) you'd be missing out. A stroll through Bath is like visiting an open-air museum, with roughly 5,000 buildings in the city drawing notice for their architectural merit. After your stroll, soak in the natural hot waters of the Thermae Bath Spa, once a favorite of the Celts and Romans.

Who briefly complained about the walk.....until we had the most superb welcome having booked for two. We are seasoned curry eaters BUT this was superb. For the first time in 40 years of curry eating I took advice- great decision! As we chatted about food it lead to a free Dhosa to try- excellent! Both our different lamb dishes were lovely. The aubergine cooked in halves was superb as was the nan. Rice great and even given advice on how it would all be eaten in Southern India. Fabulous building and although quiet, good atmosphere and great service. This team deserve every success! We wish they were in North Norfolk. 2 nights left, can’t go tomorrow, perhaps Thursday!!!Thank you all. Thank you very much Steve for your feedback. Thanks for giving us 5 stars.I am glad you liked our food and service. We look forward to seeing you soon.Kind Regards,Mantra

I really enjoyed my food here. I sampled several dishes, including masala dosa, by having their Southern Indian thali. Everything was well cooked and very tasty. Nice decor. Not sure about listening to Elvis Presley whilst eating - didn't fit somehow. But service was good, and the price reasonable. Be aware - the restaurant is up on the first floor and there's no lift.

We went as we are staying local and had seen the great reviews on trip advisor. We knew that we could take our own alcohol too - this works well for us, so we got our Cobra from Sainsburys a few doors away on our way. We had not booked, but there was a free table - it was very busy though - a good sign for late on a Thursday night. We were warmly welcomed and sat in the window table. Popadoms and pickles soon arrived and our order was taken. We were provided with recommendations that we might fancy and we ordered two curries, plain rice and nann. All of the food was delicious, perfectly cooked, the right level of spice and warm plates. We ate all of the food, it was so good. The overal experience was great. The staff are nice and attentive and engaging and there was a nice atmosphere. Clearly, lots of regulars go here - again another good sign.We will go again on our short trip and highly recommend.
