Find out what French restaurants to try in Bath. Known for its restorative wonders, Bath was once the home of Jane Austen. Sure, you could attempt to conjure up this elegant city by reading Pride and Prejudice in your tub, but as Bath has a lot more history than your bathroom (we assume, anyway) you'd be missing out. A stroll through Bath is like visiting an open-air museum, with roughly 5,000 buildings in the city drawing notice for their architectural merit. After your stroll, soak in the natural hot waters of the Thermae Bath Spa, once a favorite of the Celts and Romans.

We were a group of 3, fitted in at very short notice without difficulty. Billed as a French and European restaurant, the steak frites was really authentic. The sirloin steak was cooked (medium rare) to perfection followed by a delicious creme brûlée. Wines were reasonably priced and good selection available. Lovely bistro atmosphere, not too noisy so easy to hear fellow diners; helpful serving staff. Waiting time for dishes was quite long but not problematic given the pleasant environs.

We have eaten here a few times now and keep returning as it is always so enjoyable, and the food is of a consistently high standard. The location is lovely, the service excellent and every dish was superb. We had the 5 course tasting menu, which is served with a glass of Prosecco and incredible canapés, making it well worth the £55. All 4 of us enjoyed every single course, but the Loch Duart salmon and venison dishes were exceptionally good. Even the freshly cooked bread, butter and black salt were amazing! They really look after you and make you feel welcome. Having been lucky enough to have eaten in a few Michelin star restaurants, I believe that The Bath Priory deserves to be on that list. We are all looking forward to our next visit!

Loved every minute of our lunch from start to finish. Our elderly mother was most impressed with the whole experience and her salmon was cooked to perfection. Great and stylish location, excellent focused and customer friendly staff. As mentioned the food was 1st class. Oh my goodness it made our day. Would recommend a visit to all and definitely would return again soon.
